Everfree Invasion (Spoilers) (Narration) [Conluded]

**Spoilers!! (obviously)**

*Requires you to have seen first 2 episodes of season 4, which you can find on youtube*

(The first ((and I feel kinda poor, but oh well)) introduction to the narration style of thread you will see around the site. These threads are done by staff and will often deal with events in the episodes. I and other staff members will be part of the thread, but not with characters. Instead we will provide the setting and set up and just let you guys play it out with your awesomeness. The narrator will then hop in at various points to direct you with events and npc's, might sound complicated but its really not. Just hop in and enjoy, you'll see. I'm handling the events of the 1st and 2nd episodes of season 4, mainly as its my idea, plus I'm the all powerful god of chaos, and since he's in the episode, I figure I may as well may use of him.)

Today was a strange day indeed, stranger than most days in the town of Ponyville. The sky was split in two, the dark of the night one side and the bright of the day on another. There was no explanation for this, ponies crowded the streets looking up at the sky in awe and fear. Concerned looks were shared between residents of the town, what could they do? The elements of harmony were no where to be found, and the newly crowned Princess Twilight was in Canterlot. This fear and distraction meant that when the vines came forth there was no awareness, leaving most of the ponies in the town to be trapped in their houses or just tangled up.

However some managed to evade the thorny vines or just simply hadn't encountered them yet, however the day was far from over. In fact it had just started and there was a lot of things left to go down. What happened with the elements of harmony and the princesses is something not known in Ponyville, right now its about avoiding the wild expanding Everfree forest. To top it all off, Discord had been spotted floating about the area which led some ponies to the easy to jump to conclusion that he had something to do with the whole mess. While it ended up turning out that did actually something to do with the nonsense, he was also seen helping tidy up the mess (but you won't get to that part till later)

So it was a trying day to say the least, but we know how the elements of harmony dealt with the problems but this isn't about them. Ponyville is full of an all manner of strange characters, most of which would probably have some very strange adventures in this messed up day. This, is their story.

(Sorry for the short intro, but I figure you guys know what the scenery looks like and everything so there's little need to explain it)

Waxworks and Cobblestone

"Wow, this is great," said Waxworks, staring up at the bi-colored sky, crossing her eyes. "I've never been able to enjoy a dark moonlit night in the middle of the day before!"

"SIS! COME QUICK," came a frightened chirp from inside the House of Wax.

The waxy white pony galloped through the entryway and into the exhibition area to find a snaking mass of spike-covered vines coiling through a crack in the wall. Her little brother eyed her with a look of confusion, and sneaking suspicion. "What, what are these?"

"I dunno," said Waxy, peering at the ominous looking vines, "think we could make an exhibit out of them?"

A sudden hunk of wall toppled forward, dislodged from another vine snaking into the room. The wax head of a cragodile sculpture popped off and rolled towards their hooves.

"I think we should worry about that later," cried Cobblestone, furiously trying to push his intrigued sister out of the room.

Dusty Pan

"Ah, another beautiful morning in Ponyville. And what a lovely night as well," said a rather perplexed pegasus, rubbing his eyes as he glanced at the sky. He was worrying for a moment that he'd woken up too early or gone to sleep too late and was seeing things he wasn't supposed to be awake during.

There was a sudden crash from one corner of the junkyard, various piles of garbage cascading down as writhing vines coiled up around the heaps.

"AH! Oh no, they're wrecking all of the garbage!"

It took Dusty a moment to realize how stupid what he'd just said was, which he'd later blame on not having had any coffee, and he decided that he'd best look in on the others.

Powderkeg

"Gal dang it," scowled the coal colored pegabat as the previously clear sky began to fill with storm clouds. "It ain't enough the sky's gone all hooey, but it's gotta be overcast too?!"

Infuriated that her plan of spending the day testing trajectories had been more or less quashed, she decided to take out her frustrations in a positive way, sending a roman candle screaming into one of the spiky black clouds. It did no more than make a slight 'blorp' sound and wibble slightly, before sending a lightning bolt back her way.

"GAH! Sweet buckets'a black powder, where the heck's a weatherpony when ya need one?!"

Rivet Stitch

"Please remain calm," said Rivet in a tone so calm it wouldn't send a wibble across the surface of a jello, "this is just a minor bruising and scrape. Can I please get some gauze and antiseptic over here."

The Ponyville Hospital had suddenly seen a number of ponies coming in complaining about cuts, pokes, scratches, gashes, gouges, and other sort of injuries related to prickly plants. The minty mare wondered if perhaps there was a gardening show in Ponyville that day, and made a note to maybe pay it a visit later if time permitted.

"I really need gauze here," she said flatly, trying to signal one of the numerous other medic ponies racing about. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see a ball of gauze being held aloft by a large, spiky vine. "Oh my."

Mannequin Grace and Mandolin Gray

"OY! MANNY!" Mandolin Gray came crashing through the doors of the puppet theater in breathless pant, slamming them shut behind him. A small black root of some sort seemed to be trying to sneak under the door, and he stamped at it before racing towards the stage.

"MANNY! Come on sis, whistle or somet'ing!"

There was a distinctly annoyed sounding whistle coming from backstage. The wood-pattern-pelted pony leapt onto the stage and slid through the curtains to find his sister suspended in the air, each limb held aloft by a different vine. A number of wooden puppets were similarly being held aloft. She glanced down at him and sent out a musical series of whistles and facial expressions that quite clearly said, "get me the hay out of this!!!"

"Right right, keep your saddle on," said Gray, sinking his teeth into one of the roots and attempting to chew through it. As he tried to take another bite he suddenly found himself being pulled backwards and into the air as another vine found purchase around his leg.

"Well that didn't work," he grumbled, dangled upside down while his sister shook her head and sighed. He mused for a moment, eying Grace and her puppets all dangling from vines. "Y'know there's somet'ing terribly apt about all of this, remind me to say what it is if we survive!"

Bubbles was worried. All these vines were starting to creep her out, and she couldn't use any of her potions against them. Her shriveling potion for warts, weeds, and annoying ponies' mouths? Nothing. Her shrinking spell for muzzles, ears, and bad mane days? Nope, only made it worse. Not even her prized acid potion would burn these suckers! They were getting in her nerves, though they did perk her curiosity. She brought out her extra ingredient bags and a pair of sharp scissors, and began working away on a weak, curly vine. Try as she did, that darn weed wouldn't snap, and she couldn't find any way to examine and try and use those weeds in potions. What would they even do? Would they accelerate hair growth? Would they give the drinker spikes all over? Bubbles had no idea, and she was just too curious.

Curiosity peaked, and she finally did it the old-fashioned earth pony way: she bit down hard and tugged. All that did was cut her tongue and leave a bad taste in her mouth; and not even a tear could be seen on the midnight black surface of the creeping weed. Soon Bubbles had given up, and went on testing out potions on other ponies, dialing back on the potentness if the potions and going for the slippery ones. Soon she was using butter, slipping it between the vines to lubricate the struggling ponies enough to help them out of the weeds' poky grasp. She felt disgraced, having to resort to simple butter as a lubricant, but at least some citizens were safer now.

[Tartan Lassie]

(Can I join too?  I'm not really sure how this is going to work, but I'd like to try it! ))

    Bramble Patch galloped at full speed across Ponyville, leaping and ducking to avoid the treacherous vines. The mare had been taking a day off from her mumsy work and had been gifted a token for Ponyville's lovely spa. She had been blissfully relaxed in the warm jacuzzi bath when one of the spa ponies had pointed out of the window at the sky. Bramble had been confused, but not to the point where she wanted to leave the sauna. So the weather was a little weird? Maybe Princess Luna and Princess Celestia were having some kind of event that Bramble wasn't aware of. The workers all seemed very worried though... She had just been getting pruney and ready to emerge when a large pony crashed through the door. At least, she thought it was the pony that had done the crashing. When she looked up though...

    "We're all gonna die!" Screamed a stallion as a massive vine grabbed him round his middle and dragged him back out onto the street. Bramble, and all the other workers and clients, ran to the door. They gazed out onto a scene of chaos! Buildings were being destroyed, ponies frightened and weather disrupted. All around them, ponies had been screaming, crying and running for their lives. Bramble mind raced- "Fruit Cookie!" She said and leapt out of the door. And here she was, galloping as fast as she could, her mane and tail still dripping. As she ran, she heard ponies screaming clues such as "It's the Everfree Forest!" and "It's Discord!" She paid them no heed. She had to find her son! She had left him with a foal sitter, outside the Town Hall. She had expected them to stay outside because of the warm weather, but now she feared for his life! Galloping past the Schoolhouse, she spotted a familiar skewbald mare valiantly defending her apiary from the encroaching vines. "Help!" Cried Honey Dust, but she would have to wait. Her son, Fruit Cookie came first. Besides, Bramble Patch knew the pegasus mare and was pretty sure that, when it came to bees, Honey could hold her own.

    Finally, she spotted him. He was lying on his back on the decking, sucking his back hoof having apparently having cried himself out. The foalsitter had abandoned him! "How dare she!" Bramble cried. At that moment, she noticed a vine slowly wrapping itself around her colt, not touching him yet, but waiting to strike. She recognised the thorny bushes as dangerous bramble-relations from the Everfree forest. And they were about to hurt her son! The pink mare had become a torrent of motherly doom. "There'll be no playing in THIS bramble patch!" She screamed and, reaching the hall, kicked the plant as hard as she could with her back legs. It seemed stunned and she grabbed Fruit Cookie and ran for her life!

[Dark Star]

Dark Star was sleeping semi-peacefully during this day, dreaming of stars and other celestial beings. These sweet dreams of hers however, were quickly interrupted by the sounds of buildings breaking and ponies screaming. Her eyes shot open, and she dashed toward her window. All she could see were a ton of bramble thorns covering up her home. She tried to break through them using her magic, but for some reason, it simply started to malfunction and only threw things around her room sporadically. She stopped using it and then made a dash for the door.

After a few quick bucks, the door was knocked down and Dark Star was free. She looked around frantically for something, anything, but couldn't even think with all the screaming going on. More vines came after her, so she started running away, trying to get to the town hall and see if there was some pony who knew of a way to stop them.

'Please...let there be some pony who can help' she thought to herself. Her question would go unanswered though, since the only ponies around were either in a panic, or were trying to escape. She saw that a colt was in danger and instantly stopped in her tracks. She saw that she was the closest one to him and started looking for something to fend off the spike-covered weed with. She managed to find a pitchfork just off the side of the path, grabbed in her jaw and starting running towards the colt. In one split-second, she had chucked the fork directly at the vine, pinning it to the ground.

"Get going, it's not going to be held back by that alone!" she yelled . The colt understood her and starting making a break for the town hall. The vine broke free and lunged toward Dark Star, but she managed to side-step it at just the right moment and took off toward the town hall. By the time she got there, she had noticed that many other ponies had already gotten there and were fighting off the vines around them. Dark Star could only stop and stare at just how many there were, but knew she had to keep running. After a few quick jumps and evasive action, she found herself catching her breath in front of the door.

One vine was just a split-second away from ensnaring her, that is, until a certain stallion stomped it down just an inch from her muzzle. Dark Star thanked the heroic stallion and got inside where many other ponies took refuge. She wondered why it is that these vines were suddenly coming from, but was unable to think of any kind of solution. All she could do was sit around and pray that some pony would be able to stop this madness.

Today was hazy for Greasy, so when he woke up he didn't at all take note of the split sky, or the black eerie vines climbing up his window. all he had to blame was staying up late, trying to fix a hopeless locking mechanism on a who-knows-how old box. He nearly tripped on his cat that morning too, who seemed to be acting strange also. She was darting around the house, doing nothing but finding a place to hide.

It wasn't until Greasy's hoof had been grabbed that everything dawned on him. He frantically looked around, shaking his hoof free. He jumped away as a vine popped up out of the floor, and he ran outside, regretting it. He continued to jump and back away from the black vines, when he found himself in the Town Square.

He suddenly felt his front hooves lift off the ground, and his goggle being pulled upward. He froze, not moving. He could feel the squirming vine on his head, its grip on his goggles. He was lifted off the ground about a foot, then shook. He fell to the ground, missing his signature goggles. his fear turned to anger as the vine took it away. He didn't think at all, and charged after it, jumping on it. Another set of vines grabbed his hooves and lifted him off the ground, turning him upside down. He yelled in anger, and struggled to get free. A vine dangled his goggles in front of his face, and he tried to bite at it, missing as the vine swiped it away. He opened his jaw, his teeth hurting from biting so hard on nothing. He groaned, as he felt the grip on his hooves tighten.

((Alright ^^))

Though many citizens were fleeing for the center or inside of the city's realms, Bubbles stayed to help ponies get it of the poky situations. She soon ran out of butter, and was then yanking as hard as she could on some ponies. Many scratches later...it was no better. The half-sun and half-moon was making her vision all wonky, like one eye was transmitting light and the other dark; and her nearsightedness wasn't helping at all. She was constantly pushing the thickly-rimmed purple glasses up her nose, sweat trickling down her half-shadowed face. She finally used a reinforcement charm on them, muttering Occulus repairo as they fell off her muzzle into the ground and broke again. She levitated them upon her nose again, beginning to yank on another pony.

A young foal's cry could be heard as a rosy mother pony dashed by, and Bubbles ran up to them to check up on them.

Are you two all right? I want to make sure you can find your way out of this trouble.

She nodded firmly and looked around, watching the vines creep and crawl over the city's buildings. She started taking note if all the commotion, such as a stallion biting the heck out of a black vine, a mare looking quite worried by a café, and a whole assortment of other characters. Bubbles felt sorry for everypony, also with feeling worried herself.

[EN]

A sudden ringing cause something to stir from beneath a pile of sheets. 'What time is it?' The blue unicorn thought to himself as he reach his hoof over to the counter, attempting to turn his alarm off. At first he missed, his hoof coming up and down hitting only air, but after turning the racket off, he finally emerge and let off a yawn. Something was weird, but what? His clock said it was time for him to get up and start the day, but why was it so dark? Did he accidentally press something on his clock again? No, that couldn't be it. He rarely changes the time. Feeling something was really strange, Midnight got off his bed and decided to look out the window. "It's...still dark...?" He spoke with curiosity. "Were we suppose to move an hour back or something?" He's never miss something like that before so why now? Did he mention this is getting stranger and stranger by the minutes?

His jaws almost drop all the way down to the floor. From the window of the second floor of his cafe, he saw both the moon and the sun out. Seeing this caused even more confusion into the young stallion and it made him speechless. Special day? Well, he knew the Summer Sun Celebration was...a day away? However other than that, isn't today just one of those ordinary days, besides getting ready for the celebration of course. The Summer Sun Celebration may be in Canterlot this time, but it doesn't mean the residents of Ponyville couldn't have a party. Right, so if having both the sun and the moon out was something they'll have for the celebration, they just ruined the surprise. Something told the unicorn this wasn't apart of the plan, but what can he do but stay indoors and ponder? Oh! Right. He needed to get his cafe ready for opening! Midnight slid open all the curtains of his room, letting the rays from both the sun and the moon shine into his room. It was....weird, but that was on the back of his mind since he needed to freshen himself up in the bathroom.

Midnight made his way downstairs to get ready for the day, night....twilight?? He was going to get everything set up for opening, but not before getting something to fill his stomach. A faint glow of blue enveloped his unicorn horn along with some plates and silverware. He open the cabinet and by using magic, brought a frying pan over to the stove, pour the oil into the pan as he open the fridge for some hay bacon strips. He turn on the stove with his hoof as magic enveloped his horn once again, little did he know something just went wrong with the magic, brought a box of eggs out from the fridge. The pony visualized a couple of eggs brought out of the box, cracked on the side of the frying pan, and letting the contents spill into the pan, but that never happen. Splat! Instead of cracking the eggs on the pan, he cracked the eggs with...his face?! "Huh?" Midnight was caught off guard and laughed nervously, "Must have, slipped?" Splat! It happen again. "What??" This time he saw multiple eggs rising into the air before they dive bombed him, covering his mane and pelt. This time he started running, looking back at the box of eggs hunting him down and shooting more eggs at him.

Lucky for him the box dropped to the floor after running out of ammunition and he sigh in relief before his head appeared out from behind the counter of his cafe. Drenched in egg whites and yolks, he wonder what went wrong. Again, this never happen to him before. Just what in Celestia's, Luna's, name was going on today...or tonight??! Was there something wrong with him?? Feeling sticky and gross, he decided to clean himself up first and he made himself back to the second floor. Midnight made himself into the bathroom the second time and wondered to himself if he was sick or something. He felt fine, but something was definitely wrong with his horn. Maybe it had a mind of it's own?? Hahaha, no way...right? He was still clueless there was something slithering outside that's interfering with his magic. A magic aura incased his horn once again as he lifted the shower hose to his face before turning the water knob. Eyes closed, he waited to feel the refreshing water on his face and body, but nothing came out. When he did open his eyes, it hit him. A powerful stream of water erupted from the hose and literally knocked him off his feet and out of the bathroom. Ok that does it! He was out of here! Midnight dare not to look back as he rush back downstairs and out of his cafe, only to find himself tripping over something when he got out. Midnight shook his head at the sudden fall and look down to see what he tripped over, his eyes turning into pin cushions from the sight. There were black vines covered in thorns everywhere! It was poking out of the ground and even surrounding his cafe! Now that he was outside, he could also hear screams from all over Ponyville. What the hay was happening?!

Today was another great, uhh...night?? Okay, today would had been pretty great if it wasn't for the fact that both the sun and the moon were up! What in Equestria is going on around here?! Is there something going on between Princess Celestia and Princess Luna again? Are they having some kind of argument or is this part of the Summer Sun Celebration that's just right around the corner? Raijin didn't get the chance to even enjoy his breakfast due to an emergency call from the other weatherponies. Apparently something strange was happening over in Ponyville that required his help. Well, not just his help, but other pegasi. Yeah, what kind of problem would they only call him to fix? Anyways, he had to leave his home in Cloudsdale and his hot breakfast on the table getting invaded by the cold by the time he comes back. Great! It's rather odd how most of the strange phenomenon always seems to have something to do with Ponyville. He wasn't one to complain, in fact, he thought the town is very lively and interesting. Why, maybe in a few years he could even live there.

The pegasus flew himself over to Ponyville to check what the hay was going on and boom, he saw black thorny vines slithering everywhere! He wasn't sure what to say or do. He has never seen this kind of plant before and how fast it had grow overnight was astonishing! Hearing a call from a team member, he shook his head to snapped himself away from the black roots and on to the matter at hand. "What? Black clouds? I had to leave my breakfast for this emergency-what in Equestria is that?!" He pointed a hoof towards a black cloud. It had spikes protruding around part of the cloud. "Uh huh... Is that suppose to look threatening? It is still a cloud." He muttered to himself and launched himself straight for the cloud. He waited for the poof sound to happened evey time a cloud disperse, but nothing came. Instead the yellow pegasus found himself stuck in the cloud and luckily he didn't get poked by its spikes. At first he was stuck, but it seems his weight caused a piece of the black puff to break and with him falling down towards the cobblestone ground of Ponyville. fortunately he broke loose and this time he went back to buck the cloud. Was he successful? No! No matter how many times Raijin tried kicking the dang cloud, it wouldn't even budge. "What the hay is going on?!" He spoke with great irritation.

"Ow! You did not just do that!" Raijin jumped in the air as he turned around to find the tip of his tail singed. "Okay, you want to play rough? Let's do this!" Raijin sped around and around the thorny fluff, occasionally tackling it, punching it, kicking it, and it even tried pulling it. Nothing worked and it left a very tired pegasus hovering in the air. Apparently all it caused was made the cloud angry as it shot more bolts of lightning his way. "Hey watch it! Oh boy..." Raijin ducked and jumped out of the cloud's assault only to find himself surrounded by other clouds. He's never had this much trouble with thunderclouds before. "Are they even thunderclouds?!" He yelled and sped off. He was now being chased by them. He's also never been pursued by clouds before either. The pegasus flew towards the ground and around a building. He was hoping to find a place to hide and luckily there was a tied up hay stack large enough for one pony. In the matter of seconds Raijin vanished, holding a hoof over his mouth to prevent any sounds from escaping as the black clouds flew pass him.

Only when he thought it was safe did he dare to pop his head out of the hay stack. "Whew..." He sighed in relief. Did he dare ask what was going on again? The pegasus glance around to find other ponies panicking all over, some of them screaming. He even heard of the name Discord a couple of times. 'Discord??!' Was this the cause of that draconequus? He's heard of that name before and apparently he was the creature who represented chaos. 'That goat, lion, eagle, thing, what ever he is, is going to be in trouble!' He thought angrily to himself. "Oof!" Something hit the side of his face and when he turned around he found himself staring at a whip like vine. Raijin immediately jumped out of the hay stack and saw that the black vines had apparently found a way into the hay stack as well. Could this day get any worse??!

Location: Somewhere, on ground, in Ponyville ███ Mood: Annoyed, Confused ███ With: no pony he recognizes 

[Tartan Lassie]

    Bramble had reached the town outskirts by this point. She felt she had been running with her eyes shut, and didn't really know where she was going. She thought she must be somewhere near Ponyville hospital. She slowed down to a trot, struggling to hold her little colt. He was flailing his hooves and was soaking his pelt with tears. Bramble noticed a young mare, surely not more than twenty, approach them. She had a pale grey pelt and a knowledgeable air around her. The plum mare was glad to see her.

    "We're fine, thank you sweetie. No damage here, luckily for us..." Bramble sat down cuddling Fruit Cookie and crooning gently over him. When she glanced back up to the mare, she smiled weakly. "You don't know what's going on here, do you dearie? Everything's going crazy!" Bramble Patch was a simple mare, living a simple life. She didn't like change and she struggled with things she didn't understand. She tried to think of something to say that gave her a bit of normality back. "You don't happen to have a spare foal-sling do you, toots?" Bramble asked, hopefully. "It's difficult for me to carry him without one." Normally, this wouldn't bother Bramble but she needed something, especially if she was going to have to run again. She didn't like the look of those vines...

Bubbles smiled and nodded her head. Luckily this mare could keep a cool head while in peril. Though she had no foal sling—a young scholar like her had no need for such things—she could offer a little temporary help. She always carried sample bags with her (ingredients for potions could be anywhere) and had an industrial sized one with her luckily. Making sure it wouldn't close and suffocate the poor foal, Bubbles wrapped the bag gently around the waist of the motherly pony. She smiled and tested the bag, hoisting the foal into the harness with care. The foal was upright, the bag was snug—but not uncomfortable, and everything seemed fine.

There, does that suffice? It's all I can do with what I have. Please, tell me, is it comfortable?

Bubbles wanted no harm to come to this mare, though her constant yanking on the other ponies proved an odd fact: once she met a certain pony, she had a tendency to try and help them any way she could. She had that kind of air about her, where you knew she was smart but she was caring.

Soon, though, the vines would be covering the city, and Bubbles couldn't help but feel anxious. The vines were creeping slowly towards the buildings, wrastling ponies and wrecking houses, and Bubbles could do barely anything. She felt a but useless overall, though she was helping on a smaller basis.

Greasy was getting sick of just hanging there, upside down. He looked at the vines by craning his neck upwards, or was it downwards? Anyway, he looked at them intently, and the vine with his goggles was nowhere in sight. H did all he could think of, and bit down on the vines, pulling at them (the earth pony way!). He pulled as hard as he could, but nothing happened. He let go of the vine, the nasty taste still in his mouth. He let his head fall back again, and he squirmed again. The grip tightened. The vines were wrapped onto his hooves extremely tight now, and he could feel tiny little thorns pushing into his hooves. He didn't squirm again, for he didnt want the thorns to be pushed in anymore. He once again did something simple, yet maybe pointless:

"Help?!? Anypony?!?" He yelled out.

Powderkeg

Greasy's inverted predicament was quite a thorny one indeed, and it would've gotten even thornier in a moment if the vines around him hadn't suddenly loosened and retracted just enough for him to wriggle free. Near the base of the vines that had held him was a bat pony with a pair of lit flares clenched in her teeth, swinging them at the vines. It managed to make them back away for a moment here and there, but there were more coming every minute, encroaching on them.

She quickly turned her flashing orange eyes on him, and yelled around a mouthful of pyrotechnics, "'et in'ideda wuildin'," or what would translate as, "get inside the building."

Waxworks and Cobblestone

As Midnight Mocha beheld the screaming panic, one particular scream sounded fairly musical as a waxy white pony ran past with a smaller, shadowy black pony clinging to her back. The scream faded away then came right back, as Waxworks came running up backwards, and jogged in place with a thoroughly exhilarated look on her face. "HEY! I know you, Slendermane, right?"

The little black pony on her back glanced around warily as more vines wrapped through the streets, but his sister seemed either ignorant of their situation or delighted by it. She helped Mocha up eagerly, a manic grin on her face. "Did you hear? There are super huge dangerous plants rampaging through Ponyville! I think they're going to wrap up the entire city!"

Cobblestone tapped his sister on the back and pointed quickly to a wooden cart rolling towards them, being coiled and crushed by the vines. "I think we should keep moving."

"Oooh, okay. Now this time you have to scream too, it's more fun that way!"

"Er, you might want to run too mister," said Cobble, moments before his sister stampeded away, screaming to beat the band. As she got a short distance away she stopped and nudged her brother, before they took off again, this time screaming in unison.

Dusty Pan

As Dusty sailed through the air, he wondered for a moment where he'd gone wrong. True, he'd heroically stomped away a vine here and there, but did that sort of thing really deserve being flung through the air like a toy by a particularly large vine giving him a hearty slap? No, it really didn't. He thought about this for another moment before he went smashing through the window of the cafe Morning Locket had been working at.

After bouncing off a pair of tables, and onto a drink cart, Dusty groggily picked himself up. He wasn't having a great morning, but he'd crashed into a cafe and as luck would have it there was a steaming cup of coffee still not yet overturned. He leaned in to take a sip just as a small vine popped out of the ground and overturned it. He grimaced, "really?"

He decided to give the vine the cold shoulder in the hopes that it would think about what it had done, not that vines had the mind for that sort of thing, as he trotted up alongside Locket.

"It is a strange day so far, don't you think?"

Mannequin Grace and Mandolin Gray

"Wait, sis, why don't you have one of your acting troupe chop at the vines or something?"

Grace sighed and shook her head, nodding downward towards a few of the thus-far uncollected marionettes. Her horn flickered for a moment, and a stallion marionette stood up, took three steps, then hurled itself out a nearby window.

"Ah... magic's on the blink too? Bleh... ...well, s'pose I'll go back to plan A, wailing for help in a wee mare's voice. HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP, ANYPOOOOOOONY!"

Rivet Stitch

Things had gone from bad to worse, as Rivet's attempts to use her magic to wrap a wounded leg had wound up entirely encasing several ponies in a large ball of gauze. Her attempts to apologize were nullified as the ball rolled away, an encroaching vine giving it a shove down the hallway. In addition to the injured, there were now several ponies coming in with minor injuries, that were also coated in what could only be described as theater-quality butter.

Rivet blinked slowly, amidst all the chaos, her nose alerting her to the delicious scent she associated with buttered popcorn. "Is... somepony coating ponies with butter."

As the day moved on slow the vines continued to grow like an endless swarm. They now covered nearly all of Ponyville and were sprouting forth from the ground constantly, grabbing anything nearby and squeezing nearly all the life out of it. They brust forth from the dry soil and nothing seemed to be able to stop them, if you stood on one then another popped out nearby. Not only that but the sky was playing havoc with the weather, with one side being night and the other being day there was little to no temperature regularity. One moment could be like a pleasant summers day and the other could be a bone chilling midnight air.

There was still no sign as to what was causing this but the common thought was that it was Discord. He sure enough had been see in the town so most quickly made the connection that it was him. While he wasn't the cause (which no one knew) he was certainly enjoying it all. So far there was no end in sight to this chaotic day of plant based rebellion. In fact the plants were getting more vicious and aggressive, so to the ponies who were out and about trying to help others, your day is about to get a whole lot more trying.

Because of the way the plants were constricting the town, a lot of the paths led to one another so the chances of meeting up with others was likely, especially if some pony was calling for help.
