A'bek remained silent as Augen spoke, the smaller goats words had taken the cheer out of the Ibex. The story had angered A'bek in a way, the nature of the smaller hircine had always been a bit greedy but the tale of what happened to his smaller brethren had struck a chord with A'bek. As Augen felt sorry for himself for babbling, A'bek shook his head softly, still staring forward.
"You have not been rambling friend, although the story...has left me less than merry. The world...the world is not something there for life to take from. The world is life, you would be nothing without it, it would be everything without you." A'bek spoke coldly. "You and your...weak race, you would simply take because of your own petty greed and lust for power?"
A'bek came a halt, his anger had bubbled over. He looked down at Augen with a stern look before sighing.
"Forgive me...I mean no insult but..the world is not what you think. It is not some aimless object that is there to take from, it is alive...and it is power itself. Take for example this forest, a beacon of natures power, deadly plants and animals run rampant and a pony or..small goat, could lose their life in here" A'bek smirked as he referenced Augen. "You say there world is there for life to take from, but the world IS life."
Stamping his hoof and brining a dull light to the core of his horns, A'bek decided he would show Augen what the world was. All of a sudden, rock and earth moved beneath them, a square stone pillar rose up beneath the pair and began acting as an elevator. It rose them up above the canopy of the trees, several stories up until they were stood on the level of the leaves, looking out at Equestria. A'bek pointed out into Equestria.
"You see the pony lands, a species who knows what nature means. The oceans and resivoirs provide the rain, they use that rain to water their land. The sun provides energy, all coming together to grow the plants of the earth, food for all us herbivores. Then those that are prey are hunted, the energy is transferred. Its a cycle, one gives to the other. When you take from the cycle, you break the circle. The world's balance of give and take is altered and it proves a downfall for all, not just those selfish enough to take without giving. If you take more and more, and expect the world to keep giving...eventually your species will die, a self inflicted destruction that the world will not take the blame for...I urge you to change your thinking, I have seen the downfall of species and they were not so...greedy as yours" he chuckled.
