Evening, Mares and Colts. This might be a bit of a long-winded introduction (Or not... I can never really tell once I start getting into these.), but here goes nothing. Also, pardon any mild spelling errors, I'm doing this from my phone since it's fairly late. It's not so much my own grammar as it is this accursed auto-correct.
I've been roleplaying for about 7 years at this point. I've dug a bit into all kinds of franchises, all of them ranging from 'entertaining' to 'Why on earth am I even here?'. I've always been pretty mobile, honestly, and I'm looking to change that.
That being said, I'm no stranger to MLP roleplaying, and for good reason. I just have so much fun writing for this particular series, and it's because of that that it seems to be the longest-running series I've stuck with, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I love this fandom, I love this universe, and quite frankly, I'm glad to be a part of all of this.
But even with that, there's a reason I'm here writing this right now. And that's because I'm tired of jumping around the way I have been. Just when it feels like I'm about to settle down, something happens. Maybe the forum just isn't getting enough activity and shuts down. Maybe the people there just don't seem to be the kind I want to be around. Maybe the quality of the site isn't really meeting my admittedly picky standards. I could go on and on, but frankly, the point is I don't want to move as much as I do.
Which is why I'm really glad I've found this place. I may very well be jumping the gun here (for reasons I'll get to soon enough), but this place seems to be just what I've been looking for. I mean, seriously, Basic Roleplay/Grammar Guidelines? I very nearly squealed with delight upon seeing that. And scanning through some of the roleplays here, those guidelines seem to be held pretty dearly. Plus, you all seem to be very kind. That's always nice.
But you see... There's a reason I have to travel as much as I do.
I'm very picky when it comes to this line of work. Not so much with other people, that's not the main issue I have. With a few exeptions, I've only ever played canon characters. This is where the issue kind of lies. Trying to find a roleplay site with open canon characters, particularly the name 6, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I've had plenty of experience with them, Particuarly Fluttershy, but I've never really been able to snag a canon character on a community of this magnitude. I think you can see where I'm going with this.
Hoo boy, I can only imagine how many people I've scared off with my stupidly long introduction...
I'm not gonna give you my big rant explaining why I play only ever really play canon characters, It's really just the fact that I'm more comfortable with them. As far as I can tell, Fluttershy is still open, despite their being an app for her sitting in the Character Claim. So... I guess the way this is going to go is that I'll put my heart and soul into an app for her tomorrow and see how it goes.
But really guys, I'm not trying to sound like a stuck-up, pretentious writer here... I've just been through a lot, and I'm hoping to find some peace here. Thanks for sticking with my long-winded intro. It's great to be here, and I guess the only thing I can say is that I hope to see you all on the forums soon enough... Just gotta get an app out. If Fluttershy is actually still open. I'm not entirely clear on that. ._.
