Citrus Tang adjusted her sunglasses as she looked out to the wide open beach, some other ponies were lounging in the sand and some were skipping about in the water. Tang couldn't really care for this situation, a hot day in the sun? No thanks. She sighed and looked to the pony bouncing next to her in pure excitement, "Iee muff uuulrrr!" Poppy said with a mouthful. A large cooler hanging from the handle she gripped in her mouth, Tang was a bit surprised the little pony could carry such a heavy thing. "Right, let's grab a spot before all the good ones are taken." Tang said walking out from the shade and onto the warm sand. Her friend Poppy bounded off ahead of her, "Poppy! Don't run off! We need to set up a spot first!!!" She called out and rolled her eyes, "That silly filly..." She said with a curl of a smile. Getting started without Poppy, she walked back up to the grassy hill taking one of the free large sun umbrellas. Tang wasn't about to go skipping through the water or anything and she wasn't ready to get her pelt singed. A swish of her horn and the umbrella stabbed into the ground with great force popping itself open. "Much better." She commented at the large circular shadow that reached around her. Opening the large carrying basket she pulled out two towels for her and Poppy and laid them out under the umbrella shadow. Scooting the basket between them at the base of the umbrella pole she clopped her hooves together with a job well done. Turning to the look around Tang saw Poppy galloping towards her and skidding to a stop, getting a little bit of sand onto her towel. "Poppy! Be a little more careful!" She said in a huff frowning at the towel she had to shake out and do over again.
"Mmff ummf orrey" Poppy tried to say, she watched Tang raise a brow in that 'Really?' fashion she did quite often. "Give me that." Tang had said leaning in to grab the handle of the cooler from her. Their muzzles brushed for a moment as Poppy let go, "Ahh! So much better! Hehe, I think my jaw was starting to get sore." She cheeped and looked down, Tang had immediately dropped to the ground trying to hold the heavy cooler, "Oopsie, I should have warned you..." Poppy rubbed her hoof to her leg, "My bad! I'm going to take the bucket and find some of those sea shells Mocha asked us to find while we were here. Wanna come?" Poppy asked excitedly, Tang shook her head, a faint pink color washing over her face, "Ohh, you do look toasty. You stay here in the shade and have a drink, try not to let the heat get to you! I'll find lots of shells, no worries about that!" She said in a matter-o-factly tone and grabbed the bucket in her teeth before sprinting off again towards the shore line.
Tang Sighed and readjusted the sandy towel, the blush yet to fade. She laid down on the blanket and raised a hoof to her cheek, "That silly filly." she smiled halfheartedly to herself and decided to do as Poppy ordered and get a cold soda from the returned cooler.
