The sun beat down on Ponyville, giving the residents a peaceful day. A tanned colored mare stood in the park staring at her latest creation. She turned her head from side to side trying to spot any faults in her handwork. The machine she had made was suppose to keep track on strange anomalies that happened around Equestria. If this thing worked she could finally make her mark in the history books. She spotted a lose nut and tightens it, she whipped the sweat from her brow. Her name was Sprocket gears and she had been rebuilding her life for the past 6 years. The reason for this being that she had lost her loved one on an adventure they had been having. Since that day she had not heard a word about Storm.
Sprocket stepped towards her detector and flipped the 'ON' switch. The machine gave off a buzz as its cogs started turning. Sprocket touched Storms locket that she wore around her neck, though the locket did not belong to her she had been the closes thing to Storms family, so there really was no one to give it to. Sprockets attention snapped back to the machine, smoke had begun to billow out of it. She slammed her wrench down on it to make it stop. "Every time" she muttered to herself. She pulled the blue prints of the machine out of her bag and looked for anything that could have gone wrong.
The Blue prints showed no signs of what could have happened, Sprocket sighed and pulled a large straw hat from her bag and placed it on her head. She looked down at her fur and noticed how messy she was "I can't remember the last time I had had a good wash " she thought to herself. "Storm would have told me to clean myself up long ago " she reminisced about all those times Storm had had to carry her up to her bed because she was to tiered to move and had been sleeping in the work shop. She stopped think about him as a tear rolled down her cheek.
