✽ Epilogue ✽
The followings days Ashti was standing in the front of the plaza's stairway, in the side of Arabesque. The unicorn wore a silk wedding kurta white with gold trims, fancy and ostentatious adorned with traditional pattern and gears and a long scarf. Arabesque was at his side, in a bridal dress with a gold plated kundan necklace, a maang tikka on her forehead, some jewelry and an elegant chaadar a kind of traditional wedding veil/scarf which recovered her mane. The mare looked to Ashti and both sighted when they putted their legs on the first tread of the stair.
This wedding was financed by the state and especially the Reis and especially today was decreed bank holiday thus every inhabitant of Deerham could celebrate this event… and they didn't hesitate to come. The sound of huge crowd leaded the path of the two lovers under the applause and the hails. This was not a standard marriage, in fact as Equestrian, Arabesque and Ashti took the decision to do a half-Equestrian and half-Deerean wedding… of course the Rasamsar (Ceremony Master), the organizer had not knowledge about the Equestrian wedding but he took information from Salim and managed to mix up Equestrian-Deerean cultures. The ceremony was simple : They had to climb the stair to the altar. And this is what they do, their hearts beating with each step and finally reached the altar in when Alderamin was present, Saiyad, Salim and Gaïkah which waited with the musician and the chores to play a traditional bridal song.
The rasamsar then started the nuptial praise. Trying to remember the Equestrian thing…
We are gathered together in this gladsome day to celebrate the union of two foals, two beings born from a faraway nation but Deerean from their souls and our hearts. Living amongst us, they show us that love doesn't know any frontier and is like a blade which slices darkness and adversity.
Then he took a jeweled goblet in which a kind of tea was versed and proposed it to Ashti.
Salamalekh Sent'afjir min el-Jannah. Do you accept to bond your life with this mare, to cherish and respect her, to protect Arabesque and make her happiness ?
Yes, I accept. May my soul become one with her.
Then make your vows on the sake of the moon and take a gulp.
I, Salamalekh, solemnly swear in the name of the moon and my souls to respect and protect Arabesque, to cherish and love her through life and beyond death.
Then he took a gulp on the goblet and putted it. This didn't taste bad. This was kind of tea or syrup with cinnamon, vanilla and lotus petal. Taking a gulp was a kind of validation of the vows, to make sure that he will respect it.
… *hm… not bad*
Arabesque el-Shazia ibnt Salim. Do you accept to bond your life with this stallion, to cherish and respect him, to support Salamalekh and make his happiness ?
Yes, I accept. May my heart become one with him.
Then make your vows on the sake of the sun and take a gulp.
I, Arabesque, Solemnly swear in the name of the sun and my heart to respect and support Salamalekh, to cherish and love him through life and beyond death.
As for Ashti she took a gulp and putted down the goblet.
… *It's true that's tasty*
Then the rasamsar removed the goblet and putted instead a box that Ashti opened: It was a bracelet of engraved gold and mounted with a diamond. A bracelet that Ashti had order and took Arabesque's foreleg with a hoof on putted it under the glance filled with wonder. The Ceremony Master then made sign to the musician to play and to the chores to sings.
And at the notes of the tribal-rhythm, Gaikah started to song, happy. She has finally restored her voice and was chose to sing this sacred ode for the wedding of her best friend. At the first she had a bit of difficulty to manage her voice but she succeeded to, and finally her melodious voice resounded. And the voice of Alderamin too.
Today you have sworn to love each other and may the asters be witness of this oath. Henceforth and until your divorce. By and under the blessing of the "ancestors' eyes" we grant you the titles of husband and mate. By Adir, Geretf, Herschel and Ayalah. You can kiss each other, all praises the brides !
He raised his scepter skyward and magical confetti rained on the scene whilst the two ponies shared tears, and a passionate kiss. They, walked then towards the downstairs and at their sight the crowd applauded and several "All hail the married!".
They thanked everydeer and upped the stair towards the plaza and the reis' palace and the buffet lunch followed by all the inhabitants. On the place a bunch of long tables was set, filled with meals, enough for everybody.
One hour passed in a festal atmosphere and Ashti decided to walk a while… all these emotion made him cought blood, and he don't wanted that Arabesque watch it. Maybe should he reveal to her his illness? Maybe tonight, or another day. Anyway the unicorn was deep in thought when he saw someone, another pony looking to the festivity but staying in the shadow, waiting. Arabesque, him and Salim was the only pony of Deerham, and to be honest this was a rather unknown dominion for Equestrian people… so what this pony do here, and why nobody have noticing him. Frowning he walked towards the pony, but in a friendly way.
May the sun keep you…
… The blood from an ill flow from the brave…
… ?
… But fear not, the hero shall be cure by the grace of the ancient sibling.
The pony wore a sandlandic outfit with cape/scarf and hood and which recovered most of his face gave him a mystical fortuneteller traveling look and putted a hood towards the sky that Ashti looked… before noticing that the pony had vanished.
Where did he goes ?
At his emplacement just one feather remained… it was a pegasus ?
Rubbing his mane, Ashti returned to the feast. And not aware of what this Pegasus wanted, the unicorn decided to spend the day outside to protect Arabesque… but time passed and the mysterious pegasus didn't showed himself and finally the two lover entered at home and not long after, someone knocked at the door.
Ashti goes and opened the door… to see the mysterious pony in his front… and seemed a bit different… But now he was sure. It was a colt, in the 13, the pelt sandish and the mane brown. He seemed shy but also intimated by the one-eyed unicorn. The young Pegasus started to spoke in equestrian.
(Oh. Good evening… are... are you Salamalec Sandburst ?)
(… Yes.)
(I… apologize to bother you, mister. Name's Mulej'niena and, this will seem you weird… but someone ask me to meet… you.)
(… Meet me ? Can I know who ?)
(…I… A v-voice. Tell me to help… you.)
Intrigued, Ashti activated his clairvoyance to see this colt's aura. It seemed weird indeed, but also he was prudent. A voice… maybe this was a trick of Shazadeh, or from somepony else. And this was quite unclear… but the aura of the colt was not menacing but serein… and even rather appeasing. And also his eyes… Ashti was questioning but he was sure that it was the glance of an orphan… as him, and as Saiyad and Arabesque…
(C-Can I enter… Mister…)
… Yes…
The Unicorn opened the door and let entered the colt. Something told him to welcome this colt… and also Ashti had nothing to fear. He was able to defend himself. Crossing the long corridor they arrived in a room in when Arabesque was, drinking tea.
Oh Sala', I wonder what thou… oh, we have an invite ?
Yes. This young colt was at our door… so I let him enter.
…And thou have done well… although I must admit, never I could imagine find another pony in Semite. Where do you are from ?
He… does not speak deerhai, I think.
… (it, it's true. I understand you but I can't… speak with your language… I… am sorry)
Arabesque looked at the colt with a questioning glance… but then took a friendly face and speaks with a warm voice.
… (You don't have to be sorry. But it is unusual to see a pony here, and let-alone a foal… what's your name ?)
(Y-yes! I mean… huh, my name is… Mulej'ħniena… but you can call me Mulej.)
In listening Arabesque, the Lord then noticed something… normally when she spoke equestrian she had a strong deerean accent… but now, her equestrian was pure, lacking of any accent. This was funny that he never noticed it. Anyway Arabesque proposed to Mulej to make himself at home. T
he face of Mulej lighted up he thanked her before undressed himself: First thing to notice, he was not skinny but near of but didn't seemed to be ill although his body was marked with some scares but also some bandages, notably in the legs and a wing. Ashti noticed also that he had a magnifying glass as a cutiemark, and his messed up and dusty mane… he really looked like a wandering, a wondering orphan. Melej had removed all the cloths… except a talisman, or an amulet on his neck… an amulet which looked like the one of a Djinn.
