Winged Bow, a light blue pegasus with a white and pink mane and tail and a wavy bow on her flank, was getting right back to work, not long after having her first foal. She was planning a wedding for a couple who had moved to Hoofington just recently. It wasn't as stressful as the other weddings she had planned before, but it was probably because she had more important things to worry about. Like if her husband Necktie was having trouble taking care of their daughter, Bow-Tie. He was a clumsy earth pony after all, but lovable just the same.
"Okay, so you want about 20 bottles of Apple champagne?" Winged Bow asked her client.
"Yes! I had it at my sister's wedding. I hope the Apple family doesn't mind. Would they mind? I don't want to impose either." exclaimed the bride-to-be.
"Oh, it's no imposition at all, dear. They love returning customers. Of course I just have to let them know ahead of time." she replied happily, taking a mental note. It was nice that the bride was courteous for a change. Winged Bow knew they could be pushy when stressed.
Winged Bow went over a few more things with the bride and groom before taking off to the Apple farm down the lane. When she walked out of her office, which led directly outdoors, she saw her husband and daughter standing there waiting for her. It was a surprise, but a welcome one. Necktie was a black and white tuxedo-patterned earth pony with a polka-dotted tie as his flank mark. She greeted her family and nuzzled them both.
Bow-Tie was old enough to talk in complete sentences now. She was quite the prodigy to her parents, learning how to walk without falling after her birth. But she could be a little trouble-maker for her old man. Winged Bow could tell he was the one who dressed her today, because Bow-Tie's dress was lop-sided and sloppy.
"Did you dress her in the dark?" Winged Bow joked.
"Hey, I actually put the dress on CORRECTLY!" he declared. "SHE was the one who messed it up." He smirked and pushed Bow-Tie lightly with his hind leg. She giggled.
Winged Bow adjusted the filly's dress and turned to her mate. "I was just on my way to Sweet Apple Acres to cater an order. Did you want to come with me? Or..."
"Err... not this time, angelcakes." Necktie said nervously, chuckling to himself.
"Oh yeah, because of last time when you went--"
"Not in front of the kid." His eyes grew wide and he looked to see if Bow-Tie was paying attention. She more than likely was, but was pretending to chase a ladybug flying through the air. Winged Bow laughed and gave him a kiss.
"Alright, I'll just take her with me then. Give you a little break." she winked. They said their good-byes and the mother and daughter walked side by side, for about 4 seconds until Bow-Tie decided to run ahead of her.
Winged Bow let her do her thing, at the same time keeping a close eye on her and their surroundings. Once they made it to the farm, she went to talk to Granny Smith, and Bow-Tie made a run for the orchard.
The filly ran past a few other ponies who were gathering apples, one of which was a big red boy pony about her age. Bow-Tie wasn't really running at this point, but bounding all the way. She felt like she was flying whenever she got a good leap in.
She stopped to look at an apple tree with a branch that seemed closer to the ground. She crouched down, wagging her bottom to get some momentum and leaped with all her might to that lowest branch. Her balance was nearly lost, but she caught herself.
"Neat! I'm in the tree!" she said to herself. "Maybe I can make it to that next branch." And she did with ease, tho her landing was a bit crooked. She did this over and over in the trees, leaping from branch to branch, pushing with her back legs and landing with her front. She was getting better, but not to much at identifying branches that wouldn't hold her weight.
About her 14th jump she didn't quite reach her goal, and missed it entirely, falling to the ground with a big "Oof!" At least she landed on something...er, somePONY soft...
