Canterlot always seemed to have such nice weather, which made it very easy to walk wherever you need to go. Once a pony got used to the easy bustle of the beautiful city and relaxed into the flow, daily walks were quite nice in fact. For Nile though, it meant it was very easy to multitask while walking. In the midday sun, many ponies were out and about, visiting shops, getting lunch, running errands, or even just enjoying the sunny, warm day.
Nile had nowhere in particular to be and had been ushered out by his very close friend, Quincy, to go outside, enjoy life. Apparently Nile was "Too stuffed in your room! You need to quit being such an indoor pony, especially in such a lovely city!" So, Nile took what books he could sneak past his friend in a bag and began to trot the streets. The library might be a nice goal but he had not yet finished his books that he got from there yet. Maybe a cafe` would be nice, sip coffee and read on the patio deck.
The quiet sound of his horn's magic igniting was drowned out by the sounds all around him but he could feel the magic alive and warm. He lifted a book from his bag and levitated it in front of him, quickly flipping the pages open to where he last left off, starting to read while he walked. He read and walked many times a day in his long life at Canterlot, it was easy to dodge ponies and run with the flow of people, stopping when needed, though this was Canterlot, not Manehattan. The streets weren't as packed or fast paced, but that didn't make it less lively.
Normally, he could easily avoid running into anypony, but today was different, he didn't know where he wanted to go. He was distracted by those thoughts, debating with himself, and reading now. He had much less attention on what was happening around him and would surely run into somepony sooner or later, it was just a matter of time..and let's just hope he didn't run into anypony in a bad mood.
