On a particular warm sunny day in Canterlot, a conductor was looking at his watch. The Canterlot Express service bound for Ponyville was ready to board after the consist and the locomotive had been turned around in Canterlot Yard. His watch read 10:35am.
Just then, a red pegasus pony wearing a fedora on his head was trotting in the station concourse towards the ticket stands. Carrying his saddlebags, he showed his private class badge and the pony behind the glass acknowledged him. The mare observed the badge carefully and nodded.
"Mr. Fortissimo, The Canterlot Express bound for Ponyville will be leaving on Track 1 at 10:40am. Please make your way to your private coach. A porter will be there shortly."
"Thank you ma'am. Today will be a perfect day for a train ride to Ponyville. Take care!"
The mare nodded and waved goodbye as Slide Fortissimo made his way down the stairs, directing him to track 1. Once he reached the bottom of the stairs, he trotted down the platform to his private coach. A red passenger coach that was clean and ready for the long journey to Ponyville. While Slide admired the coach, a porter trotted over to him.
"Excuse me Mr. Fortissimo, where would you like to have your saddlebags stored?"
Slide looked at the porter and laughed. "No thanks sir, I'll keep these to myself on the train. Thank you." Slide tipped his hat and boarded the coach.
Inside the coach, Slide placed his saddlebags onto the floor and flexed his wings. He sat down onto his seat that had a table and was glad to see that the morning paper was already there.
"Mr. Fortissimo?"
Slide looked back. It was the conductor.
"Yes?"
The conductor trotted over to Slide. "Mr. Fortissimo, I would like to tell you that this train is a non stop service to Ponyville. Lunch will be served at 11:30am and please let me know if you need anything."
Slide nodded. "Thank you sir."
The conductor then trotted to the next coach and closed the door behind him. Slide checked the time on a clock in the coach. It was time for the train to depart. Slide smiled and picked up the newspaper. As he began to read, the train departed the platform, starting it's long journey to Ponyville.
Exactly two hours later, the train had arrived in Ponyville. Slide got up from his seat and collected his saddlebags, placing his fedora onto his head. He thanked the conductor and stepped onto the platform.
Now then, I wonder who's here to see me?
