Misty Fly's day in Ponyville had been pretty relaxed until the urgent message had reached her earlier;
Dear Employee,
You are urgently required in Cloudsdale for a weather emergency. Your specialist skills in the Storm Divison make you specifically suited in handling the situation. Please come to the Cloudsdale Weather Factory as soon as possible upon receiving this letter,
Regards,
Storm Cloud
Cloudsdale Weather Factory Management
It hadn't taken long before Misty Fly had been in the air and heading to the city of clouds. As she approached, it was impossible not to notice the huge storm front that appeared to be massing nearby. Swirling clouds of darkness wafted around in eerie silence, only occasionally broken by the muffled roar of thunder that resonated across the sky.
As Misty entered Cloudsdale proper, the effects of the encroaching storm could already be felt. Tough winds buffeted against her as she flew through the dampening air. She squinted against the light wash of moisture as her gaze turned to the city around her. She spotted a mare ushering two foals into their home before slamming the door shut. Seconds later, the curtains were pulled. It was a worrying sight to say the least.
Eventually, Misty found herself at the Weather Factory. She spotted a few other pegasus ponies flying in front and followed their lead as they descended to a building on the edge of the facility. A security pony waved them into the meeting hall. Several dozen ponies had gathered in the space. It was apparent that messages hadn't just been sent to Storm Division workers, as there were numerous pegasi gathered from different divisions.
She recognised a few faces - names escaped her - as she scanned the crowd of pegasi surrounding her. Most appeared to be chatting causally but their voices were quiet and hinted at nervousness at the potential emergency they had all been called for. Misty herself wore an easy smile, trying to alleviate the mood, or at least fend of any of her own anxieties, as she settled into a seat.
