The sun began to go down, creating a beautiful sunset that captured any view of whatever ponies where staring at. The clouds were still in the sky, turning orange and pink at the light hit them. The sky was full of vibrant colors, orange, red, yellow, purple, blue, a little green. It was stunning. It looked like somepony flew up into the sky and painted a picture, using the sky as a canvass and the clouds at the paintbrush.
This time of day was Cracking Dawn's favorite. Well, tied for favorite along with the sun rising. She just really loved the sun. So everyday after her guard shift was over, she'd stop at her favorite tree in front of the castle and watch Celestia lower the sun as her sister Luna raise the moon. There was a point when the moon and sun were parallel to each other, and it looks amazing. Dawn's blue eyes brightened as the two large circles moved, making her love all the beautiful things in life.
Once the moon was up, she stared at it for a while. The sky was dark, making everything around her dark as well. The only lights being from the bright white moon and the very dim street lights they barely worked. Dawn couldn't see anything too well, so she lit up her horn slightly to brighten up her surroundings. She sighed then, picking up her favorite spear and leaning against the tree, staring at the stars.
After a few minutes, she felt tired from all the action she had today. Like she had to save a cat from a tree, catch a robber, watch Celestia's door for a while, then argue with a colt for trespassing. All in good fun. So when it was the end of the day, she could finally sleep. She got up, levitating her spear with her bright blue magic, then slowly began walking down the street, hoping nothing bad will happen. She couldn't generally see anything anyway, it was all too dark. She could run into a wolf, maybe even a robber. They usually were out here late a night. Maybe she could find a pony that needed her help, or maybe find somepony gazing at the stars. Who knew.
She walked for a while, tired, but not wanting to go home. She took her ponytail out and pulling it into a braid then sat down in the middle of the street, looking around. Dawn then heard somepony screaming, which took her attention faster then anything else. She got up, taking off running to where th screams were. The yellow unicorn's heart was beating quickly, her spear in front of her just in case something awful happened. She didn't care about herself at that time though, she cared about the pony screaming.
