Quill swiftly shut her door behind her and took off at a trot down the cobblestone path from her small home. Her pink and yellow satchel bounced merrily against her flank as she made her way past ponies walking through the streets. The sun was high in the sky, approaching midday as she waltzed through the town. There was a certain spring to her step as she saw the marketplace sprawled in front of her - brightly colored awnings and the sound of dozens of ponies milling about the shops. She grinned, weaving through the crowd to the sweets shop. She had just recently finished a chapter of her latest story and after this quick stop for some watermelon candy, she would be off to deliver it for her editor. But there was the rattle of extra coins and she quickly deposited them on the counter of the shop. As the flap to her satchel was open, a large gust of wind tore through the small shops and ruffled the blue and yellow awning above her. Another breeze pulled her mane to the left, getting a piece of hair in her mouth. She sputtered and looked up to see her beautiful, recently finished chapter floating up in the air.
"No- no no no! Come back-" she jumped and snagged one page in her teeth, and caught another that had been sitting on the awning with her magic. But dozens of pieces of paper fluttered throughout the street now, ponies huffing indignantly as they got caught up under their hooves. "My chapter - come on!" She stamped a hoof and frowned. "That was my last copy..."
She left her money on the counter, forgetting her watermelon sweets completely and started weaving her way through the crowd, furiously closing her satchel as another gust of wind tumbled through.
