Having just gotten his job at Manehattan Records, (see back story) I began my tech trek, searching out equipment in the shops nearby to compliment the equipment I already have. Bringing my portable sound sampling equipment in a saddle bag would be a good idea, thinking it would bring fruit to my efforts of gathering sound for a new mix. Maybe I can find something new to add to my mix board at home, I thought, maybe I can make it in this business. Actually be a DJ for Manehattan Records ...this could actually work! As my excitement began to build, I realized that I just received something I never really had before...a transit card. I never really had something like that. I paid in bits to get here from my home town, Fillydelphia, I never had a transit card. I hope they are friendly and able to help me use it. Pondering a moment on this, I realized something, I can go anywhere to get my new sounds! I am not limited to Manehattan... thoughts trailing off. Arriving at one of the saddle bag shop I seek out a deep crimson saddle bag made of heavy canvas, water resistant and reduces wear. It has a comfortable strap with plenty of padding. It was prefect. I went to the front to purchase this wonderful find, swiping my card for my savings bank in Fillydelphia. The kind unicorn at the counter, who just helped me find this new bag, looked at me with concern, they said, "I'm really sorry, but your card declined. Do have something else to pay for your selection? We can always find something more within your budget if you would like." As I felt the eyes on me, and the pressure building, a thought came to me in my time of need for solution, I have an expenditures card. They gave me a card to cover costs while I'm out doing this work. I need a saddle bag, and they said the money I spend comes out of my paycheck...I am totally okay with this. Okay, here I go. Gathering the courage again I offer my "Xcard" and it completed my purchase. Exiting the store I complete my journey home to my Manehattan apartment, finding my portable sound sampling device, which I put in one side of my new saddle bag, and my portable mix board in the other side, levitating my saddle bag onto my back to start my journey. Heading out my door, I use my expert level sound equipment manipulation magic (the one thing I am very good at as a unicorn) to record the door closing as I exit, playing the sound back in my headphones, smirking at the success of my setup and execution of this equipment usage. Happy with the results of all this effort, I begin to walk to the train station. As I walk I see the serenity of the park not far down the road from my new Manehattan apartment. I stop and rest from the excitement of my day, job interview, saddle shop, recording studio, meeting new ponies, etc., and just enjoy the sound of nature and rhythm of life around me, before my travel to... where was i going go? What was my next move, anyway? I just needed to relax a moment and figure it out
