Orchid Bloom woke to a small tongue on her forehead.
"Tip-" she fluttered her eyes open to a small, red fox standing on her chest. "Tip, stop-" she laughed as the fox's eyes widened when she lifted him away with her magic. Today, Orchid took her time getting ready. She wasn't opening up her shop today; instead, she was pursuing her other passion: medicinal plants. She wasn't really sure if there was a better, proper term for it, but it didn't really matter. Orchid had had a thing for nature since a young age, building a flower shop with her father when she was young. As she grew older, she began to study the qualities that some of the beautiful plants and flowers in her own shop held: being able to stop a throbbing headache, heal a scrape, and even sooth a turning tummy. However, ponies often made fun of her for silly things like "being a witch" as if she was from the eighteenth century. Orchid didn't let that bother her.
Setting the small fox on her dresser, Orchid stepped out the door and latched it behind her. Trotting along the rocky path until it smoothed out into inner Ponyville, Orchid let her mind wander. Maybe she would find some rosemary today... or even cherry blossoms. They usually bloomed this time of year...
She arrived at the park not long after her deep thoughts ceased. She saw just a coupled ponies sitting on benches reading books, enjoying the weather, walking their pets across the pathways. Orchid breathed in deeply; citrus blooms. This time of year, the sweet smell of lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit tree blooms filled the air with a luscious aroma. She smiled, pulling out a small brown box from her satchel. It floated next to her, enveloped in green light as Orchid began her search for anything that could be used in her new practice.
