There must have been something in the air the day after Hearts and Hooves Day. The weather was just right - not too crisp and chill, neither was it too windy or sunny. There were clouds puffed in large mounds floating past, with intermittent moments of shade and sunshine. There wasn't much snow, with Winter Wrap Up not too far away; it still didn't stop the weather ponies from blasting Ponyville with it every now and again. Thankfully, today was one of those days safe from such a predicament.
Onyx Bass was still in Ponyville, becoming quite comfortable and used to the easy going and friendly lifestyle of those that lived there. He thought this might be the best place to move, once he found the need to settle. For now, he was quite content just enjoying the sights and sounds of Equestria travelling on what little funds he had left to spare. Of all the ponies that he had met, the one he found himself becoming attracted to was Lollipop Porcelain.
Sure, she was a unique one. Dramatic, and extravagant. Sometimes even over the top. He had never really seen or met a pony like her before, and perhaps this is why he was attracted to her. Someone who competed a little with him in the spot light. Both were truly happy in the eyes of the public and didn't much mind at all if they got that much attention.
A travelling amusement park had made a stop over at the Ponyville Park for a week, and Onyx really wanted to go there for a while. He would have gone on his own. Going on a date was a better idea, since many of his fans would have seen him on his own and decided to tag along if they wanted to. Sure, that would have been nice, but he wanted to enjoy the day spent there with someone he already knew.
So why not Lollipop Porcelain?
Onyx Bass was dressed for the occasion and left his hotel room. He was donning his trademark shades and glittering stud pierced in his ear, a blue, black and white plaid collar shirt with a red tie and his spike bracelet on his right front hoof. He held a rose in his mouth and grinned to every single mare and stallion that he crossed paths with, but who he really was on the lookout for was Lollipop Porcelain.
He got to the entrance of the park and looked around as a rush of ponies passed him, laughing and giggling with cotton candy and caramel apples on sticks. Ah, the scent of the amusement park. The sounds of the rides. He could hardly wait. He checked the sky for the time of day and hoped that he wasn't too early.
