Sugar for my Honey (Private) [Dead]

They had been together for quite a while now, but that didn't mean Honey still didn't get excited whenever they visited each other. Especially considering how busy they both were - with her looking after her bees and running her honey business and him apple bucking day in and day out. So they made sure never to take their time together for granted.

Humming a happy little tune to herself, the Earth pony pulled her blackberry pie out of the oven, smiling with satisfaction as she watched the steam rise up from the pastry. It smelled rather delicious, if she did say so herself. She had gotten up especially early to pick blackberries, and was just in time as Autumn was swiftly coming to an end and the bushes around her house were starting to freeze over. One of her most favourite things to do was cooking and baking for her coltfriend, especially considering how appreciative he always was: so she made sure to always give him the best. He deserved nothing less after all.

She set the pie on the open window to cool before pulling her oven mitts off and hanging them up out of the way. Taking a quick look around the small kitchen to make sure it was all clean and tidy, she nodded once in approval before checking the time. He'd be here any minute. She'd made sure to clear her schedule, and had already seen to her bees and tidied and cleaned her cottage, which she'd usually do later on in the day. But she didn't mind getting up earlier than usual and squeezing in some extra time to see her Napples. Quite frankly that was usually the best part of her day.

Deciding that there wasn't anything else to do, she poured herself a glass of orange juice and sat at the kitchen table to wait for his arrival, smiling with excitement.

Apple Napoleon trudged through the snow, his home-made scarf that Honey made for him getting soaked from plowing the snow for Applejack's farm. It was making him colder than warmer, and he intended to hang it up to dry so he could wear it tomorrow. "Honey, I'm home!" He snickered at his own joke. He walked into his marefriend's home of course waiting until he was through the door to shake the snowballs from his coat, and getting them on the floor.

"Oops."

He lifted his hooves and observed his handiwork. He did his best to scoot the snow out the door, whistling like he did nothing wrong and then hanging his scarf on the door handle.

Ears pricking at the sound of him calling her in his usual manner, Honey wasted no time in getting up and rushing to the door to greet him, rolling her eyes fondly at his adorable joke - and the fact that he still laughed at it every time. She reached the front door just as he appeared to be whistling and pushing snow on the floor out the doorstep, causing her to raise an eyebrow. There was snow stuck between the wood, as well as on the walls and doorframe.

"You couldn't have done that before entering the house?" she asked with a chuckle, grabbing her broom by the side of the door in her mouth and using it to sweep the rest of the snow out the door as he hung up his scarf. She then turned to give him a kiss on the nose before leading him into the kitchen, where the delicious smell of blackberry pie waited for them.

It was surely cool enough to eat by now: especially considering the weather. She took it off the window sill and set it on the kitchen table before pouring him a cup of coffee. This had just become routine for them now: he knew he was more than welcome, and that he should always make himself as comfortable as possible in her home. She smiled at him as she cut him a rather large slice of pie and handed it to him on a plate, before cutting herself a smaller piece and sitting next to him.

"So, how's work at the farm been? I'm guessing you'll be on holiday soon, considering Winter's here," she said casually before taking a bite out of her slice, taking a moment to appreciate that it tasted as good as she'd hoped. "I hope you've not been too busy in preparation for it."
