White hooves clopped against stone as a tall pony made her way into the large town square, messy hair bobbing down and up. Her sapphire eyes wandered around at all the ponies milling about, and for once, that mare wondered, how could there be that many ponies in Equestria? Aeverie, the pony's name, lingered on this question for a moment, but was quickly pushed away by another sense. She had originally walked out of her house to explore, and that was the only thing she should be focusing on now. Aeverie didn't fancy getting lost in big cities, so that wasn't happening today. Plus, her siblings are probably having even more trouble, having gone to Canterlot and other highly populated areas.

The hot summer air had yet to bother the mare, as she trotted inquisitively upon the stones that had lingered around the large building in the middle of Ponyville. The building was slightly interesting, as it towered in the sky, threatening to touch the sky. Though Aeverie always knew you could never touch the sky, afterall, it's just air. After quickly glancing towards the building by the name of 'Town Hall', Aeverie quickly glanced back down and trotted more around the center of Ponyville.

Though, temptation nagged at the back of the pegasus' brain, telling her to go and prank everypony who innocently passed her while walking to go somewhere, or just walking to walk. A mischevious grin continued to tug at the corner of Aeverie's mouth, thretening to show as she glanced around at all the ponies. Shaking her head, she frowned and continued on her way. Though Aeverie didn't really have a way, she was exploring. When you explore, you never have a way. You just walk and walk until you found everything. It's quite exciting, actually. Though Aeverie wasn't as excited due to the amounts of boring in this town. The mare let out a long sigh, a shaky sigh that rattled around in her rib-cage, but continued to walk aimlessly.

Today was another good day in Ponyville. A pony with black mane and midnight blue colored pelt made his way down a three story building that was once owned by his grandparents. The unicorn, Midnight Mocha, headed out the door and slowly made his way through the streets, after locking the building of course. What was the building? It was his home and his shop, the Midnight Cafe. Normally he would had open the cafe, however today was his off day. It was his day off and yet...unfortunately, he doesn't have clue on how to partake of this day. 'The park? It's a pleasant area for a walk and for a pony to enjoy the scenery. Perhaps I could get a bite to eat to quell my stomach, so maybe I should head over to the market.' There was so much he could do, but so little time. Rumble. Guess his stomach decided to make the decision. Luckily he didn't have to walk all the way over to the market as he found a stall selling apple pies. Oh how he enjoy consuming apples and all delectables created by the shiny skinned fruits.

Now that his stomach was satisfied, he made his way towards the center of the town, occasionally greeting ponies he would encounter with a smile as he continue on his stroll. Crunch, crunch. Now Midnight was munching on a bag candy he brought. The pony was levitating a transparent plastic bag, containing multiple round and colorful sweets looking almost like gumballs, with his magic. He was enjoying his sweets and at the same time he was preoccupied in his thoughts. He should really be paying attention to his surroundings, but when ever his mind gets too preoccupied he tends to tune everything out. Yeah, so he didn't notice a group of young ponies speeding fast towards him on their scooters. Those little fillies and colts screamed watch out, but their words failed to reach the ears of the stallion. They almost crashed, but luckily the ponies on scooters managed to out maneuver around him, just baring making contact with him. However, it did cause him to spin round and around.

The unexpected turn of events caused him to become dizzy and made him drop the bag of candy had held. What do you get with a dizzy pony trying hard to walk straight and a bag of round candies rolling beneath his feet? A disaster. Midnight's hooves stepped onto the round orbs of sweetness and started failing and rolling around. Back and forth. Side to side. Even spinning around like a twister became possible and he almost crashed into some white pony. "Ugh!" Midnight felt the world coming to a stop after falling flat on his face, just a few feet away from the white mare he almost crashed into. He was still dizzy and his vision blurry and making duplicates of whatever his eyes manage to grasp, but he did manage to sit up as he held his head. "H-hello there miss!" He eyes squinting for a clearer vision. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. Well, will you look at that, are you twins? You two look the same!" Midnight spoke to the white pelted mare as he smiled. "I'm sorry. I didn't cause you two any harm right?"

Aeverie continued to trot around the Ponyville square, the small adventure slowly becoming just another day out of her house. The white mare let her hooves take her to a wooden staircase that led up and into the Town hall, and she sat and rested for a while. The sun beat down on her, humidity evidently obvious as the hot day dragged on. Of course, Aeverie didn't care for the sun, or the heat all around her. But her body obviously didn't like it, and small beads of sweat began to appear on her face. The pegsus shook her head, shaking off the annoying salty water, and just rose up again. Sitting wasn't as amusing and bored-killing as she thought. So she continued to trot around. Of course, it wasn't with reason, again. She didn't know where she was going, and it didn't bother her. Unlike some ponies, Aeverie didn't get bored easily, and just walking around soothed the boredom prickling at her legs.

Though excitement did come. Aeverie saw a midnight pelted stallion buying apples out of the corner of her eye, but continued walking along. She didn't really care about the shops littering around frankly, despite the slight rumble that tickled her stomach. Plus, the mare did prefer homecooked food anyways. She shrugged mentally, mostly because horses don't have collarbones, and therefore cannot shrug physically.

Stopping, Aeverie glanced around for a moment, before a swoosh of wind disrupted her and she glanced ahead. The same navy pony was walking with a bag of tasty looking candies, seemingly unaware of the fillies that had just passed her, and were now scooting towards him. Aeverie was just about to yell at him to move out of the way, and opened her mouth, but the fillies swooshed out of his way. Aeverie let out a small breath, relieved that someone didn't have to go to the doctor. Though, the stallion was not totally unscathed. He swirled round and round precariously, inching closer to Aeverie at the moment, dropping the bag and making the round sweets spill all over the town streets.

The unicorn seemed to stumble towards Aeverie, and fall, slipping on the candies he dropped a while ago. Aeverie just stared at him, eyes wide as she silently wondered if he was okay and if the fall hadn't sprained or broke anything. Though, he seemed okay, due to him speaking to her with a slightly dizzy tone. Though, his words confused the mare. There wasn't anyone else with her, was there? She glanced around to make sure, and didn't see another pony next to her, not a soul. She shook her head, and just outstretched a hoof to help him up, sapphire optics staring down at him.

Hearing no response from the...mare? Midnight squinted his eyes again. Right, so since he did not hear anything from the mare, he thought he caused them trouble. "Oh? Thank you kindly." The stallion smiled after seeing one, two..., three hooves offering to help? He tried to reach for the hooves, but he failed, not once, not twice, but three times. His disorientation was far worse than he had thought. Why did their hooves keep going through him? Fourth time was the charm and he finally manage to grab a hold of the mare's hoof, finally manage to get himself back up, even if he was still feeling a bit dizzy. Midnight's vision was starting to get better after...blinking and shaking his head a few times. Oh how embarrassing! Right there in front of him only stood one pony, one white pelted mare staring at him with her eyes shined of sapphires. He hope she didn't think he was a crazy pony. "Ah... Um..." His eyes wandering around trying to figure out what to say. "Uh..sorry, I should had pay more attention." The midnight pony laughed nervously. "You're not hurt are you?" His eyes finally settled down to her trying to see if she was fine.

Aeverie watched Midnight with her intense eyes, but they only shone with a hint of amusement, and a spark of childish trickery. Of course, the carver pegasus was clearly grown out of her child years, but that one trait carried on and on, like a disease that could never go away. Though it wasn't a disease at all, just rather, good fun with a playful nature.

The white-pelted mare continued to stare, a small smile curling at her lips. It was actually quite amusing, watching the stallion reach for her hoof but continuously missing. He groped for it three times before finally latching onto the white hoof extended for him. Pulling himself up, Aeverie silently noted that this unicorn was still dizzy and could fall at any moment. He shook his head a few times and blinked, before resting his own brown eyes on Aeverie. Watching him speak, Aeverie sighed and replied "You couldn't have payed more attention. Those fillies made a b-line to you on their own, and they should have been more careful.", she said, huffing a piece of white tipped mane out of her face and eyes. Hearing a small, awkward laugh, Aeverie glanced towards him, and replied once again. "I am fine. The question is, are you fine? You seemed to take a pretty hard fall." With a small glance at one of the candies rolling towards her hoof, and back, she spoke again, "I haven't seemed to catch your name?"

I am fine. Midnight let those words settle within his mind before the feeling of uneasiness went away. He was so glad this pony was hurt, but something was still off. What was it again? It was something he acquired not to long ago. Where was his... Oh right! His bag of candy! Where...is it? The midnight pony's eyes wandered around before they saw a empty bag on the ground. Empty. Ok that explains why he was flailing around and going out of control earlier. He probably stepped the candy after being spun around by those little ponies. They sure were energetic, which is good and it made him remember the days when he was a little colt. However, he wasn't quite able to have such fun as that, riding around on scooters with his friends... But enough of that! He needed to attend to his mess. The horn of his head glowed light blueish and the stallion tried his best to pick up all the round tasty, but dangerous, candy. As far as the eyes can see, he picked them all, but for the remaining, if there is any, he apologizes for his lack of attentiveness. He hope no other pony trip over them.

"That's what it looks like huh, but it's not they're fault. I...am probably the one at fault here. I mean, I do tend to get lost in my thoughts and not pay my surroundings any attention." Midnight replied embarrassingly. "I'm just fine, no harm done. Nothing I haven't...experience before." Smacking into walls, doors, tripping over something, over pouring a drink, food hitting his face instead of going into the mouth, and more. All of those were just some examples of what goes on in his daily life. It doesn't happen every day, but maybe once or twice every couple of days? Yeah...sound about right. They were nothing new for this stallion. Now don't mistake him to be clumsy, he's only like that when ever he's in deep thought. "Midnight Mocha, I own a cafe here in Ponyville." The equine introduced himself as he fixed his bow tie. "May I ask for yours miss..?"

Aeverie continued to watch the unicorn, eyes now growing bored. With her blue eyes, she watched as Midnight Mocha make a light blue like aura around a plastic bag that was now empty and clear. Aeverie had slightly seen the pony drop the bag which was previously filled with gum ball like candies, and make them spin around the Town Square. He had probably stepped on those. It was a classic accident in Equestria, as nowadays, ponies seemed to be clumsy. The stallion had picked up the candies around and placed them back in the bag where she should have been. Aeverie glanced around the ground, eyes scanning over to make sure that no more candies were littering the ground anymore, just so she didn't slip like the midnight tinted unicorn in front of her. She smiled when she didn't see any. Good. Nopony was gonna slip and fall again. Maybe. There was still the possibility that they were still rolling around anyways.

Now, as voice reached her ears, Aeverie pricked the muscle and glanced over to the unicorn again. Well at least he was fine, afterall, he could have broken a bone or something. Though, it seemed as if this was another clumsy resident in Equestria, meaning another pony that could get someone or himself hurt. But, hearing his name, Aeverie smiled because now her roleplayer wouldn't have to call him by description anymore! Now, Aeverie needed to share her name. She was a little embarrassed though, since she didn't have a job like he did, but she guessed it was fine. "My name is Aeverie, but I don't have a job."

"Pleasure to meet you miss Aeverie. It's a lovely name." Midnight smiled towards the mare and gave her a courteous bow. This was something he does without even having to think, something his parents embodied into him since he was a little colt, and if he had to guess, it's become a habit whenever he should meet new ponies. Trying to make a good impression? Why of course! However the first impression was probably already made when he had that little incident. Was the stallion intentionally trying to create good impressions? No he wasn't, least not in this way. Majority of the ponies met in Ponyville doesn't even do all those proper etiquette motions. Hay, most of them probably didn't even know what they are, but this wasn't about that. This wasn't him and when he realized he just calmly cleared his throat, "How long have you been in Ponyville?" Midnight asked and started to wonder why she didn't have a job. He wasn't thinking that every pony needed to have a job, but it was a thought. Was she one of those ponies who has a knack at working in different areas? "It may sound sudden, but if you're ever in need of work. You're welcome to come by my cafe. I could always use a helping hoof." His eyes wandered up into the sky as he finished, holding a hoof over his eyes so the solar rays doesn't blind him. The last thing he needed was to cause another accident. "Today's rather hot isn't it? Would you care to join me for a refreshment? Lemonade? Apple juice? Water? It'll be my treat."

Aeverie let a smile curl at her lips, trying to keep her face from going red. For most of her life, she hasn't really had any courteous manners in her house. A month ago, she and her siblings had been rough-housing in their parents home, before they split; Aeverie to Ponyville and Asher and Sohcah to Canterlot. But now, Aeverie doubted her two brothers had their same 'no-manner' personality, due to them going to the big-city where manners were a must. And that's why she moved to Ponyville, because the society wasn't as strict with manners.

But she guessed now was the time to start gaining the manners.

Letting out a jumbled curtsy, Aeverie said a quiet little, "Thank you, nice to meet you as well." Well now, next month when Aeverie decided to visit her brothers, perhaps she would be ready? But hen again, maybe they would be ready for her as well. Doesn't matter, whenever they were together, they always let a playful side show anyways. But there were more questions to answer.

"I've only been here for a month, and it's been quite hard to find a job, but if you would accept me, that would be awesome! Oh and, we could get a drink if you want, but I have to pay a little bit if we do!"

Hard to find work? In Ponyville? Midnight was a little surprised in all honestly, but then again it's not so surprising considering what kind of jobs were the providers providing. "Really? I'm kind of surprised, because it always seems like every pony here in Ponyville could use some help." The stallion chuckled in the end and gestured the mare to follow him. "So where were you before you decided to move to Ponyville?" He asked her trying to make conversation. "I, myself, came from the big city Manehattan. I...didn't feel like I fit in. I mean, don't get me wrong it's a nice city and all, but the home scenery was me. If that makes any sense." Manehattan. That single word always seems to make him remember that posh city where he spent most of his colthood. It wasn't the most exciting time he's had that's for sure. Hay, Ponyville filled the excitement he was missing in just about a couple weeks of being here. Still, he couldn't help but wonder how his father and mother was doing, not to mention his brother and sister. When was the last time he spoke to them? It's been a while... They didn't really see eye to eye when Midnight decided to move into Ponyville. Oh well, he hope them well, but perhaps one day they can somewhat get along. "You sure? I don't mind buying you something to drink or eat. It's the least I could do after almost crashing into you." The midnight pelted pony turned his head and lay his brown eyes on the mare. "Anything you would like? Have you try the apples from Sweet Apple Acres here in Ponyville? I have to say the apples here are probably the best in Ponyville, could even be the best in Equestria." He was probably over exaggerating since he love apples, but there's no lie that the apples here are really delicious.

The mare nodded a bit embarrassed at this element of surprise. Of course, she was never the best worker, and many individuals realized that, especially close individuals. Her brothers and parents knew this very well, due to her childhood chores getting neglected when she lived in her parents house. "Yeah... It's just kinda hard..." She replied after a while, awkwardly reaching up and trussing up the back of her mane with a white hoof. "I lived in a Hoofington before I separated here."' She replied with an almost happy bounce in her step, but Aeverie wasn't one of those overly cheerful ponies, filling excitement into the roots below the city. Aeverie was instead a single pony who just loved the days where she didn't have to slave over work or scrabble to get food into her stomach.

But, the Pegasus pricked her ears at once after the mention of the big city of Manehattan. With an English accent and prices to boot, it was a bit resembling to Canterlot. Well, that was what she heard at least. She remembered getting a letter describing the Equestrian town in detail from her older brother, Sohcah, and it seemed like quite the city. She let a slight smile curl at her face as she remembered he two brothers, Asher and Sohcah, imagining them in the big city of Canterlot. Though she shook out the nostalgia once hearing Midnight speak again.

"Oh fine, you can pay. And no, not yet, but I heard they were good?" She replied glancing at him with her sapphire optics. Though, Aeverie had tried the apple pie made from Ponyville, and boy were those good. She could almost feel the taste dancing on her tongue again as she thought about this, making her stomach growl in protest and causing her tongue to swipe over her lips.

Midnight decided not to pry anymore about jobs, after all every pony has their circumstances. "I'm sure you'll find a job here in Ponyville and like I've said before, if you're ever in need of work just let me know." He present her with a slight smile before turning his attention back on the streets. The stallion's cafe wasn't anything special. It wasn't big nor was it busy like he would like it to be, but it was about average. He could normally manage the entire place by himself, but occasionally he's had ponies looking for jobs and being the pony that he is, he doesn't usually turn them down. "Village of Hoofington huh? Good place?" He's never been there himself, but maybe one day he can visit the place if he decides to travel. What caught most of him was when she said separated. "Separated? Family?" He asked her. That was the first thing he guessed, as he also moved away from his family to pursue his own dreams and lifestyle. "So what made you move here?"

The pony was surprised once again after hearing Aeverie said she haven't had an apple from Sweet Apple Arces. However he realized he needed to stop being so surprised since the mare's only been around for a month. Still, he tried to think what she had been eating. "Oh they're simply divine! Not to mention the various apple-themed treats you can create with them. Apple pie, apple dumpling, apple crumble... Oh, sorry! Got a little carried away there." Midnight chuckled to himself. Did he ever mention how he love apples? It's like his favorite food since the time he grew teeth. He's surprised that his cutie mark wasn't something related to apples. "Speaking of apples, I think I smell some apple fritters... Ah!" His eyes caught the stall selling those small delicious morsels. After handing the bits for two bags of freshly made fritters and two bottles of cider, he handed one of each to Aeverie. "Ever had these before? They're made with breading that is filled with, well you know, apples."

Glancing at Midnight, Aeverie let a small smile enter her white face, returning the smile that the navy stallion offered to her. It would be nice if she could work at this pony's cafe, though, all Aeverie could imagine if she worked there was broken plates littering the floor, glass threatening to cut anyone who decides to walk on by the disaster. Mind wandering, the pony continued to walk without any real trouble in avoiding roadblocks such as small pebbles and ditches.

Though, the white Pegasus snapped out of her small little daydream as Midnight spoke again, and she replied to he questioning tone of her family. "Oh yes, me and my brothers separated." She said with an almost solemn look entering her eyes, but it wasn't there for long as she started to think about her brothers. Asher and Sohcah; she could imagine them getting into social trouble up in the fancy town of Canterloy, and giggled mentally at this, painting a perfect picture in her mind.

"Hoofington is nice, but I thought I would like Ponyville better." The Pegasus said, thinking about the empty place of Hoofington. Hoofington didn't have very many residents,though her family wasn't the only soul to inhabit the town. It wasn't too crowded, but a bit undercrowded as well.. Ponyville was better however; friendly faces but not as high society as the more well known towns, such as Canterlot. She had continued to list why Ponyville was better, eyes shining as she thought about it.

But once again, she slapped her mind back to reality and glanced back over to Midnight as he listed off some mouthwatering good sounding foods that probably surrounded the whole lore of Ponyville, seeing as how she only smelled the scent of apples when Aeverie went to the Marketplace. Though of course, Aeverie was crazy for going to the marketplace on such low funds, considering she didn't really have a job at all, and yes, maybe Aeverie is crazy, in her own way at least.

Again, her stomach let out a grumpy protest as her ears tattletales to her taste buds about the food that may be somewhere, and those taste buds told their best friend, stomach. Like a whole gossip train in Aeverie's body. Though the Pegasus had to stop her mouth from dribbling saliva from her lips constantly, and she had to keep swiping her fleshy, pink, taste-bud-filled organ across her mouth.

And then, her nose caught the gossip, and told to her hooves, making them move towards the sweet, cinnamon scent with Midnight Mocha. The sapphires laying in Aeverie's skull started to glitter as she caught sight of the food, and it was quickly bought and handed to her. She balanced the cider on a wing, and the fritter on the other, replying to Midnight with a shake of her head and a smile.

Midnight couldn't help but chuckle silently to himself after hearing a weird rumbling noise coming from Aeverie. "My, it seems like you haven't eaten in days. I mean, that's not true right?" His cheerful tone was soon interrupted and replaced by something more concerned. He watched as she balance the bottle of cider and the bag of fritters on her wings and looked around. "Oh! I should have just handed you the fritters first, want me to hold the drink for you?" He was already lifting his own bottle of cider already, not to mention the bag of apple fritters, but lifting a second bottle of cider would prove to be no difficult feat for this pony. "Perhaps we should have a seat." The midnight stallion's eyes wandered around before catching sight of a unoccupied bench not to far from where they stood.

The unicorn made his way over to the bench with Aeverie and after taking a sit he spoke once again, "I have siblings myself, a older brother and young sister. Our separation wasn't a pretty one." Midnight remembers as if it was just yesterday, though he would rather not go into much details. He had gotten himself into a big argument with his family and majority of them were all against his ideas. After an hour or two he finally left Manehattan and made his way to Ponyville. It wasn't like his connection to his family were completely severed, but he wasn't hanging on a thick rope either. If anything the connection was hanging by a thread and another dispute could easily slice through the thread like butter.

He listened intently as Aeverie spoke about Hoofington, but unfortunately she didn't say much. In his mind he was imagining Hoofington to be the second Ponyville, but different. Midnight wasn't sure why, but He couldn't imagine the place to be like Manehattan or Canterlot. It was most likely his dislike of the high level of fanciness that was preventing him from widening his imagination. "So what brought you out in Ponyville today? Taking a stroll? I hope I'm not messing up your schedule or anything." The smell of the fritters contained in the bag was starting to get to him and made him realize they should probably eat them while they were still warm. "Sorry if I keep blabbering... Should probably eat this before they get cold." He laughed nervously as a hoof reached into the bag and pulled out that sweet brown delicacy that is the apple fritter.

Flicnhing at the sudden change of tone; from cheerful to worried, Aeverie glanced at him with a small, guilty smile. Yes, Aeverie has eaten; she ate yesterday. But was that counted as days? She didn't know, she never really kept track of time anymore, linear time always confused her anyways. And so she lost track of it, and she didn't have time for a clock to be put up in her house or a calendar, nor the funds. Oh well. "Oh no, I've eaten, don't worry." She replied with a small, nervous laugh. Nobody really needed to worry over her, she was fine really. Even if she did not make it in Ponyville, she could still go to her brothers, however much that might hurt her overly large ego.

Aeverie twitched an ear as Midnight started to worry over not handing her the drink first, and let a soft smile touch her lips. This was quite amusing, to say the least. Shaking her head though, she held up a hoof, and followed him over to the bench, letting the drink and apple fritter slide off her wing nones and deaths and onto the wooden bench with a small thump.

She sat down quickly, cocking her head in curiosity as Midnight spoke about his separation with his family. To be honest, her separation with family was quite he easy one. No fighting or conflict to leave off on and worry while away. They left on good terms. Though Aeverie decided to not ask anymore about it, it seemed like a sore subject to him.

"I have two brothers, Asher and Sohcah, but I haven't seen them in a month since they're now both in Canterlot."

Taking a sip of her hot apple cider, she smiled and shook her head again as the navy blue stallion asked if he was messing up her schedule. After all, her schedule consisted of nothing.
