It brings her great pride to build fences for her fellow ponies, whether it be for actual use or for decorations. A fence to Palisade means to have protection all around you, in whatever shape truly works. Her passion is wood working the stakes needed to support such a protective barrier, like how friends support each other through thick and thin against danger or adversity, because she believes every pony needs a little support (whether they know it or not). So in a sense, a fence is like a great network of friends, strong and defensible, and always ready to stand up for you when you need it.

Personality:
Overall:
Altogether Palisade is an intelligent, zany and easy-going sort of pony that loves to help others. The problem is she can be too helpful and either take too long or run through tasks that would help her friends too fast and accidentally make things worse. Sometimes her temper can get the best of her, but she knows when she's acting mean and will do whatever she can to apologize to whoever she has wronged. Usually she's very pleasant and loves spending time with others but her insecurities and fears can bridge a gap between her and her friends. Now that she is on her own, and away from her parents that currently live in Cloudsdale, she may panic quite a bit but will still be her silly, friendly self as much as she can. Her devotion to her friends can be seen through her bravery and how she tries to act as a 'Palisade' between her friends and any potential dangers. If a friend is need, Palisade will be there to lean on. Despite her fears, with great friendship, she could work to overcome them. Especially the ones that cause her to run and hide, but in good time, maybe she could change that and be a braver pony than ever before.
Background:
As the eldest of two ponies, she was often the go-to pony in her family when it came to pitching in and babysitting her younger sister Angel Dust. Her life began in late Autumn and she had a relatively stable and lively childhood, which including going to school and making friends. After graduating from school, she soon found herself working beside her father Saw Dust, in his carpentry shop, where he made furniture. Her cutie mark then was still a mystery, so she spent a good part of filly time in her father's shop, usually being the one to fly out and pick up deliveries as well as deliver small loads to customers. One day, a pony from Baltimare arrived and ordered a decorative piece fence of sorts to put on their wall. Her father was busy with bigger orders, so she took it upon herself to make it to the client's exact specifications. After working out the schematics and finding herself rather focused on her work, she finished creating the art piece in roughly a week's time. When the pony arrived to pick it up, Palisade handed it over with pride, and in that moment she knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. After that realization, the pony pointed out that a cutie mark had in fact appeared on her flank. And when she glanced over, there indeed was a dark brown fence with dark dividers, referencing the art piece she had worked so hard on and had become so passionate about.
However, there was already a Contractor in Cloudsdale that specialized in fences so she had to move her business elsewhere. So, after contemplating it for quite some time, she propositioned her parents on moving to Ponyville, a town that seemed to be getting a lot of buzz lately news wise. After gaining their approval, and bidding farewell for now to her family, she packed up her things and bordered a train there. Upon arrival she quickly took up residence in one of the houses for sale: a small cottage with a rusty fence and withering garden. With a little tender love and care she could finally make it a home, and maybe even call Ponyville home. For now she's just focused on getting her house up to code, and having her business settled in on the main floor, but she was content on this new life and curious to see what would become of her future.
