-General Stuff-
Name: Golden Cascade
Nickname/Alias(es): Goldy, Cassy, whatever you see fit really
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Mare
Age: Teenager (18 to be precise)
Additional Status: Obsessed? Would that work? Read more in the motivation section.
-Physical Stuff-
Pelt Color: Purple
Mane/Tail Color and Style: Light purple and pink, nearly always ruffled as she doesn't take the time to brush it properly.
Eye Color: Crimson Red
Cutie Mark: Quill and paper with a 0 on the paper itself. This symbolizes both her love and her talent for cracking all sorts of codes. Word puzzles, number puzzles, reading maps, finding treasures, you name it. If it's a puzzle, Golden will solve it.
Other Scars/Markings: A birthmark on her right shoulder. It's in the shape of a Dragonfly.
Physique: Being a closet nerd, she isn't very well built. What she lacks in muscle she makes up for in brains. She has powerful legs though, as she is a pretty fast delivery mare. More about that in the next section
Picture credit goes to Stump. You all recognize her style right? Golden Cascade is on the left whilst her sister Daydream is on the right.
-Social Stuff-
Current Residence: Golden Cascade is a roamer, as her job requires her to go around a lot. She does have a house in Ponyville, nearest to the library as she could get, but she's hardly ever there.
Job: Cryptographer and delivery mare. For those that don't know what a Cryptographer does: She takes notes and whole letters, turning them into codes that only she can decode. On arrival at the receivers location, she deciphers it and delivers the letter with a smile.
Mother: Fire fairy
Father: Spark Pierce
Sibling(s): Daydream (owned by Stump)
Other Family: None that she knows of. But you never know right?
Closest Friends: Nopony (yet)
Courting/Courted By: Nopony (yet)
Mate: Nopony (yet)
Foal(s): None (... see above?)
-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Golden Cascade simply loves to sit around in a park and decode stuff. Be it small notes be it larger notes, Golden Cascade will enjoy it nonetheless. Other than that, she likes to run around in the sunlight as well. She also enjoys watching small filly's and colts, seeing them play reminds her of her time before codes. But what Golden Cascade truly enjoys is a good brain-numbing code to crack. Sitting in the library to really think about it, not having any kind of disturbance. Save for the odd pony to either ask her a question or answer one of hers.
Dislikes: Bossy ponies. If there's on thing she cannot stand, it's to be bossed around when she knows better. The other is cold and lonely nights. Though she likes silence, Golden Cascade hates to be alone in any possible way. Next would be ponies who say something is impossible. She lives by the rule 'Life is hard, but never impossible'.
Motivation: Seven years ago, when Golden Cascade was just a little filly, her mother left her for no apparent reason. She, her father and her sister were living a happy life without her though. Her father earned enough to keep all three of them going through life day in and day out. Sometimes, mostly on cold lonely winters nights, Golden would find herself staring out of the window down the streets of Ponyville. She somehow hoped that her mother would one day return. Daydream would usually join her on such nights, even staring with her if the moment was there.
One day, in school, Golden Cascade got a loveletter from a colt. She blushed like crazy when she accepted it, opening it to read it. But what she read wasn't normal, it seemed like strange scribblings more than a love letter.

That was what it said, which didn't make any kind of sense for Golden. She tried asking the colt what he meant by those seemingly meaningless scribblings. The colt only chuckled at her, telling her a few simple words. "Take five steps back and all will be clear" This didn't mean anything to Golden Cascade though, yet it nagged her mind viciously. That night, when the moon was up high in the sky, she took out the note and stared at it again. She remember the words of the colt, which made her mind reel in sudden realization. Take five steps back? She did exactly that, tracing each letter five steps backward into the alphabet. In the end, once deciphered, the message was simple but effective.
You are the loveliest mare in all of Equestria, would you be my loved one?
Right there, she knew what she wanted to do with her life. Her talent had always been using her brain, or so she thought. But that decoding was the most thrilling thing she had ever done. Puzzles, that was her special talent. Her cutie mark appeared that night as well, drawing a loud cheer and an angry, sleepy father and sister to her room. Deciphering was her life now.
Oh, she sadly turned the colt down on his request. But she did thank him for showing her such a wonderful thing as ciphers. Since that day, she has been trying to write her own codes and her own ciphers. Hoping to one day create one that nopony would be able to read but she herself.
Strengths: Her brainiac skills manely. But also her speed. She might not be as speedy as racing ponies, but she can still run at a pretty decent speed. What kind of delivery mare would she be if not for that? Next would be her openness towards new ponies, hoping to share her codes with them as best as she could. And finally her bubbly character, which will make her see the positive side in anything she does.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Funnily enough, her obsession. Golden has a knack for scaring off potential friends with her crazy codes sometimes. She also doesn't have a lot of stamina, so she can't run a very long way in one go. Next would be the fact that she can't take critique very well. And lastly, Golden Cascade has a knack for being weird. Not Pinkie Pie strange or Screwball weird. But weird in a way that made other ponies feel awkward about being around her.
Fears: Golden Cascade hates the dark, which is made stronger by her fear of silence. If those two go paired, she wouldn't even know how to react. Her other fear is dogs. She doesn't hate them, but her body tenses up when she hears a dogs' bark. Her allergy of cat hairs has made her weary of cats as well. But her worst fear is to be incompetent or being unable to write or read. She'd be absolutely devastated if she couldn't write codes anymore.
Overall Persona:A cheerful pony who tries to see the positive side of absolutely everything. She never sees a negative side to something unless it's truly there. Her absolute obsession with codes can be a very awkward thing though, as she tends to get completely caught in conversations that she rules. She never really was a popular pony, so she doesn't realize it when other ponies feel either awkward or uncomfortable. She tries to make new friends, delaying the conversation about codes as long as she can. When it comes down to talking to colts though, she turns into a completely different pony. When normally happy and bubbly and positive, talking to colts makes her inward, shy and not at all talkative. Getting to know her can be quite hard for a colt, but as Golden Cascade herself says, not impossible.
