The Cobblestone Paths {open to anyone}

The clacking sound of hooves on the cobblestone path hit Eternity in the ears instantly. The cool air brushed against her short, grey, coat, while her bright red eyes searched around for something to do to pass time. Her nose was being tickled by the band aid that covered her small scar, as she hummed to her own tune with a light voice. The mare had a pair of ear buds in her ears, and she seemed to be listening to Countess Coloratura, one of the most famous pop singers in all of Equestria. Eternity was listening to one of her favorite songs, which was called 'The Magic Inside'.

Humming to the light, quiet song, she popped a piece of mint flavored gum into her mouth. She was afraid somepony would walk up to her and start talking. It would not be great to have your breath smell, especially talking to somepony new. Gross..

Eternity brought her red eyes to a small bench that sat in the middle of the cobblestone streets. She moved her hooves over to her bright red jacket and put her hood on so nopony would see her awful looking mane. She pulled up her football/hoofball front leg warmers, and snuggled back into her jacket. The gust of wind blew all around her, shaking the dead, fallen leaves on the ground. A few leaves went over and under the bench, so she tried to dodge all of them that came her way. The wind finally left for a few moments, so she huffed to herself and went back to concentrating to her music.

"Hm..hm..hm..hmmhaahmm.." she hummed in her own, raspy, deep, tomboyish voice. The matter of fact was that whenever she sang, her boyish voice would disappear. Her normal voice, and her singing voice was completely different from each other, so it would usually shock other ponies.

Eternity switched her song to another, but one by Paramare, (Paramore.. a rock band). The song was a more rockish one, but it suited her deep voice. Now lightly singing a loud to herself, she lifted her head to look in front of her. Her bright eyes searched for something to grab her attention, but nothing pulled her out of her seat on the white bench. She sighed lightly then hummed herself back into the beat of the song. Her green bangs draped over her eyes as she looked back down at her grey hooves. Her messy tail hung off the bench, almost touching the shimmery ground.

A few more minutes past, listening to a few more songs and chomping onto her minty gum. She found herself looking back across from her, spacing off into her own thoughts. She all of a sudden moved her hoof onto her MP3 player, which blared the music into her ears, shocking her back into reality. She ripped the buds out of her ears and fell off the bench and onto the cold ground. Eternity blinked her eyes, trying to get her heart rate back to normal from the fear of what just happened. She looked around awkwardly trying to see if anypony saw what just happened, and she saw a crowd of ponies around her. A few giggles came across her ears, so her face flushed red and she looked down, trying to hide her face from under her red hood. After a while she heard ponies start to leave, but she kept her stance on the ground, trying to find a new song to listen to.

Aurora walked down the streets of Canterlot, feeling odd in the new surroundings. She had heard that many of the ponies here were snobbish and she was hoping she didn't run into any of them, just wanting to get home as fast as she could. She knew she would have to stay here for the night, being there was a writing convention in the town that she was determined on attending but she wasn't sure if she could make it here longer than she had to. Her light eyes scanned the area, keeping her head down as to not attract attention. Okay, Aurora, hold on, don't freak out, you can make it,But how could she not? She heard the whispers of ponies around her, commenting on her mane and tail. Okay, Aurora, hold on, don't freak out, you can make it, she thought, trying to stay calm as she walked. She closed her eyes and kept walking, hoping it would make things easier. Though, it didn't; Aurora had bumped into something and hoped it wasn't another pony.

Aurora quickly opened her eyes and slowly looked down, blushing before flying up as to not hurt the pony she bumped into. "I'm so sorry!" she nearly squealed, holding out a hoof for the dark grey mare to grab. She thought for a second, taking in the details of the pony before noticing the giggles from a group of ponies. She didn't look over, refusing to acknowledge them, knowing it would only make her feel worse. "I-I'm Aurora Feather," she mumbled shyly, keeping her eyes closed as she blushed harder from the giggles. Great first impression, Aurora, she thought. Her eyes opened slowly, hoping she wasn't going to scare the pony. She sure as heck was scared to be in this place without her pet, Fae. "You can call me Aurora," she said in a near whisper.

Eternity felt a hard smack once again onto the cold ground. A small growl bubbled at the end of her throat as her ear buds popped out of her ears once again, blaring loud rock music out of them. The grey mare lifted her head back as the red hood slipped off her messy mane. Her bright eyes searched around, trying to find the thing that bumped into her. Her eyes landed apon a shy, white mare. Eternity let out a loud huff that was filled with annoyance. She lifted her eyebrow as she put one of the ear buds back in, then grabbed the hoof of the mare and stood back up. Her green bangs fell over her eyes and sighed trying to cool down.

"I'm Eternity. Just Eternity," she said in her raspy voice. She cleared her throat then looked back down at the sparkly ground beneath their hooves. Her red eyes then fell back to the Pegasus in front of her. "You falling on me wasn't your fault. I mean, it was totally your fault, but it is what it is," she mumbled. The grey Earth Pony looked at the other mare for a while. The grey mare looked at her colorful mane, followed by her wings and tail. Eternity raised her eyebrow once again. "You're not from here are you?" she asked with a deep tone, the truth spilling out of her mouth. "You look like a Ponyville pony. I've never seen you before," she continued with a hint of gloom. She was still mad from getting knocked over.

Eternity kept a straight face. The only sounds now were her chewing onto some gum. She looked back down at her hooves and started humming to her music, still one bud in her ear. She looked back at the Pegasus and showed the tiniest smirk she could possibly do. She huffed at the shy mare in front of her and sat back onto the bench. "So, why are you here? You seem a little uncomfortable," she calmly said, resting her arms onto the head rest of the bench. Her messy mane formed over her band aid, making her nose itch. She placed her arm over her nose and shifted it over to scratch it. Her red eyes fell back onto the other pony.

Aurora could tell the mare was annoyed and landed on the ground, feeling in her saddle bag before looking around frantically. "Uh, yes and no. I just moved to Ponyville not too long ago but I'm from Fillydelphia," she said, looking at the grey mare before scanning the ground again. Aurora listened to Eternity's hums before flying again and searching from above - sometimes it helped her. This was obviously not one of those times. Where is my book, Aurora thought, not listening to the pony but knowing she said something. She caught the last bit of the sentence and nodded. "Little is an understatement. But, I'm here for a writing convention. Uncomfortable or not, I have to stay," she said with a sigh before finding the book and quickly flying down to grab it before trotting back to the mare.

Aurora looked at the rough journal that held the last story she had written and quickly opened her saddle bag to put it back, feeling around to make sure everything else had stayed in there. Once she checked her mental list clear, she looked at the grey mare and tilted her head to the side. She stared past the mare, looking at a feather that laid on the bench beside her. It looked like a crow feather though she wasn't too sure. She walked over and grabbed and pursing her lips to the side when she realized it was just an owl feather, stuffing it into her saddle bag with the rest of her belongings before looking at the mare again and blushing. "Oh, sorry. I make quills to write my stories. More fun to write with when you made it," she said with a shy smile before pushing her mane from her eyes.

Eternity looked at the white mare once again as she grabbed the owl feather. She raised an eyebrow again then flicked her head to get her green and yellow mane out of her face. "You say sorry a lot," Eternity said, pulling one of the corners of her mouth into another one of her devious smirks. The grey mare then put the other ear bud in her other ear and looked back up. "So.. writing convention. Seems legit. You a writer or somethin'?" she asked trying to get a conversation going. Eternity looked at the other mare's flank to see a writing type cutie mark. "Ah, I see. What type of books do you write? I might've read some of your books. The name Aurora sounds familiar," she continued looking at the Pegasus. "I read a lot in my past time. Mostly romantic things. Can't help myself."

Eternity hopped off the white bench with a thud, then stretched her legs. She then stood back into a tall stance and blew a bubble with her gum. The mare sucked back in her gum into her mouth and looked back at the mare in front of her. The sun appeared behind the clouds, making her eyes grow brighter. She hated her eyes so she flipped her hood over her head and tucked her mane that sat over her shoulders into her jacket. After that she trotted over to the white pony and opened up the saddle bag on Aurora's back without asking. "Hopefully you don't mind. I'm just a tad curious, but you want what they always say? Curiosity killed the cat."

Eternity looked around the bags, trying to find something useful. She found an apple, which she took immediately. After that though, she closed the bag and trotted back over to the bench. The grey mare then took out one ear bud again and tucked it into her jacket. "I'm surprised you don't have a map for this place. Most buildings look the same in these cobblestone streets. I'm guessing you're looking for the convention though, since you keep looking around. I, though, know where it is, so I'll gladly show you," she murmured under her breath. Her grumpy voice turning into a much lighter one. She couldn't keep her bad attitude forever right?

Aurora blushed lightly before shrugging. "Highly doubt you have read any of my books since none of them have been published. That is, unless you snuck into my house in Ponyville and read them while I was gone," she said jokingly before smiling slightly. "I write mainly romance. Some adventure, a tad bit mystery. Got to keep myself on my feet," she said, watching the mare open Aurora's saddle bag before taking out an apple. Good thing she planned ahead and brought a lot of food. She occasionally ate when nervous, so it was a habit to pack food when she went to new places. "I've memorized the map, actually. Though, I wasn't so sure I would need it. Turns out I was mistaken," she said calmly before standing and stretching her wings so they wouldn't get stiff. Her eyes searched the building before looking at the mare in front of her. "I'd be very appreciative if you showed me," she said as she began to flap her wings, flying slightly above the ground and looking at the mare, waiting for her to lead on. Aurora was thankful that she had bumped into this new pony. It would probably make wandering around a new place less awkward. And that would be very nice considering Aurora was more than awkward enough for herself.

Eternity gave out a small giggle, the corners of her lips forming into a small smile. She normally didn't laugh about other ponies jokes, guess she does now. "Sounds like something I would do, crawling into a random house in a small town," the grey mare said trying to get a laugh of her own. Her sarcastic voice was trying to peek through. "I'm joking. Now you must have a good memory for memorizing the Cantorlot map anyway. My brain is too small for that kind of thing. I always say I don't have a brain," she admitted. Eternity was actually starting to like this Pegasus. She doesn't make very many friends, so this must mean something special.

The green and yellow mare turned her head off to the side to look down the loud road. Tons of ponies were starting to clog up the streets, which was surprising for what time it was there. Early in the morning wasn't the loudest place to be in Cantorlot, which is why Eternity liked being alone in the morning. She liked time to listen to music or practice for a hoofball game. The mare never liked to be around large crowds, unless its a sports game, then she'll gladly celebrate a touchdown with others.

Eternity looked back at the white mare in front of her. She tugged her head off to the side like she was telling her 'this way!' She started to trot away from the bench and into the crowd with all the other snobby ponies that took place also on the cobblestone. She occasionally looked behind her to check if Aurora was behind her and not lost because that would not be great. Of course the white Pegasus had wings and she could always fly above the crowd to search for the other grey mare, but that never came across Eternity's mind.

Now looking for a small sign that says 'WRITING CONVENTION', Eternity started to think about this new mare she has come across. She liked her so far, from her always blushing to whatever Eternity says to her writing and talking abilities, Eternity liked it. A small smile crept up onto her face as her red eyes finally found the sign. It was attached to a large building with a few nerdish looking ponies around it. "Alright Aurora, we're here," Eternity said, turning around to face the pony taking flight.

Aurora giggled and smiled at the Earth pony, following her as she began to trot away. Aurora didn't know what to think of this new pony but so far, she liked her. It was nice to start making friends, though, it was kind of sad she probably wouldn't see this pony after she went back to Ponyville. Aurora's eyes scanned the streets, noticing the odd looks she was getting for hovering over every pony. With a sigh, she looked away, hoping no pony would try to get her attention. Aurora looked at all of the building around her and smiled slightly. She definitely wouldn't be able to live here, though, it was a nice change of scenery. She was glad it didn't smell like her house either. Earthy smells and books was nice, but in moderation.

Aurora looks down to make sure she was still following her new friend, which she was, before looking around again and catching a glimpse of an exotic pet shop. She made a mental note of it, keeping in mind she'd have to get Fae a present for leaving her home so long. She knew the arctic fox would be just a little upset with her owner, as Aurora didn't leave her alone very long. She looked up as she saw a building and landed, smiling at Eternity. "Thanks! Would you like to be my plus one? I could get you a book here. Who knows, maybe your favorite author might be here," she said with a smile. She knew that several authors were going to be here to give their advice along with some publishing agencies. Aurora wasn't ready to publish a book just yet. She wanted to make some friends around Ponyville before she did so, though she knew it would be a struggle for her. At least she was making a new friend today, right?

[TigerWolf]

TigerWolf had to admit he really really hated coming back to Canterlot. Though it has changed since he was little his memories would come right back when ever he was I'm the capital city. But he had a reason to be here. A writing convention. Since TigerWolf wrote water Spell books and swimming/diving books he had come to see if he could earn anything about writing better. Especially if he wanted to start his third spell book.

He entered the convention and was greeted by a few random ponies that knew about him. "So it looks like I'm known in Canterlot. I'm getting there." he mutters as he walks around a bit more.

TigerWolf finds Hs way to the fictional part of the convention. A certain book caught his eye. He walks up to a stand and examines the cover. "Tales of the Sea." I'll have to read this sometime." he says turning away and walking deeper.

"Man where are all the spell books? That's what I dealt need right now." he says.

(Before I just jump in herei just wann make sure I'm joining at a good spot before I make the role play difficult for anypony/anyone (whichever).)

Eternity put another ear bud in as she pointed her eyes at the floating Pegasus. She never thought of what would happen when they both made it to the writing convention. It also never crossed her mind that the white pony in front of her would ask if they would stick together for the convention. The grey pony didn't think twice of going to a writing convention, or any convention of that matter. Today was thought of a lazy day, guess not anymore.

The pearly whites of the sport's pony brightened up her face as Aurora was looking straight at her. "Yeah, I'll stick with you for the convention. It wouldn't be great to go alone, anything could happen. Guess that's why they say; 'Always be with a buddy! Buddy system is the way to go!'," Eternity mocked a filly-like voice like she was in elementary school again. She of course got out of school a long time ago, from a degree to go to a national football team. The grey mare of course took the option and followed her heart. "And speaking of favorite authors, you really think my favorite would be here? I mean, she is pretty.. famous," she continued, trying to bring out her pearly white teeth again. "Like.. so famous.. no pony has really met her.. like, eye to eye contact."

Eternity let out a long, sad, sigh then changed the song on her MP3 player. Another Paramare song. The mare then trotted over to the opening door of the shiny building, and walked inside. She looked around for something to catch her eye, until somepony nudged her. It was a huge, guard-like stallion. He had a large frown on his face as he started to ponder on about how she wasn't allowed to be chewing gum. Eternity rolled her eyes at the conversation and spit the gum into the guards face, that followed by a huge smirk on the corner of her's. "Happy now?" she whispered under her breath as she trotted away, happy at what she just did.

Aurora shrugged at Eternity's question and walked into the building, looking over her shoulder to talk to the grey mare. "Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if she was. There are a lot of famous authors that come here just to get inspiration for their stories. Many do it under the radar, though," she said as she walked to the fictional part of the convention. She smiled at all the faces around her, keeping her eyes on the authors and publishers at booths before running into a pony. "What's with me running into ponies today," she thought aloud, looking at the silver pony she ran into. She looked him up and down before catching a glimpse of his cutie mark and looking at the stallion in bewilderment.

"What are you doing here, Tiger?" she asked, rather surprised that he was at a writing convention. She didn't know he wrote things much less came to writing conventions like this one. She brushed her grey, aurora colored mane from her eyes as she turned to Eternity and widened her eyes. She knew the stallion could introduce himself but in her mind, it was a good idea to introduce them. "Oh, Eternity, this is my friend, TigerWolf. Tiger, this is Eternity," she said, turning her head to smile at the two of them and looking at a booth before turning back to Tiger with a wide grin. "It's nice to see you here. A familiar face is very welcome when you are as nervous as I am," she said, growing quiet towards the end. Was that necessary?  He doesn't need to know you're nervous, Aurora, she thought before smiling to get out of her thoughts

TigerWolf studied the cover a little longer. Suddenly he feels a force against his side. Not a strong one but its force. He turns and sees a mare. A strangely familiar mare. Her mane her pelt. He glances at her cutie mark. "Aurora?" he says in a surprised/excited tone. He then realizes his voice change. 'Whoa Tiger.'

She asks why he is here. "Oh well I write water magic spell books and swimming /diving instructions. I'm abut to star on my next spell book with a few new spells and some improved ones so I need to find a way to write my books better. I mean can't have bad books." he says. 'Really? Bad books?' he says then mentally face hooves trying to smile it off in real life.

Luckily for him Aurora introduces him to a friend. A gray filly. "Hey Eternity." he says. "I'm guessing you make friends quick Aurora." 'Shut up TigerWolf.' he says mentally face hoofing again. He then looks around again. No spell book section in sight. Who knew writing conventions were so hard?

Aurora then says something about being happy to see a familiar face. "When traveling around you get used to it eventually. Don't worry you'll be over it in no time at all." he says offering a grin. "Anyway... Any of you know where the spell book section is? I can't find it."

Trotting over to Aurora and the new stallion, Eternity gave a quick snort. The guard behind her was making awkwardly gross sounds while having a piece of chewed up gum stuck to his face. The grey mare was trying so hard not to laugh at the large stallion, but she couldn't help it. "Haha! You see what I did there? Gum is so awesome," she chuckled, looking at the white Pegasus in front of her. Eternity then shifted her head over to the new stallion and frowned. "Who is this Aurora?" she asked with a hint of confusion. The white Pegasus told her that his name was TigerWolf, from Ponyville. "Oh, hey Tige, can I call you that? Anyway, I'm Eternity. Just.. Eternity," she smirked.

After a few seconds of Aurora and Tiger catching up, Eternity gave another small smirk. "So you two know each other? Because, I totally ship it," she chuckled under her breath as she trotted away from the situation. She didn't think anypony would get her joke, so she simply walked away from the situation. The grey mare ended up in the spell book section, the one place she never understood.

Looking around, she spotted a few books with some sports balls on them. Eternity smiled her pearly white smile then opened them up to see a while bunch of unicorn talk that she didn't understand. She obnoxiously stuck out her tongue and spat at it, then threw it back into the bookcase. The Earth Pony soon trotted back over to the two other ponies, then switched up the song on her MP3 player. After that, TigerWolf said something about trying to find the spell book section. "Oh yeah, I just found it. Right over there," she said, throwing out a hoof to point towards the section.

Aurora glanced over at Eternity with a smile before looking back at the stallion and shrugging at his remark on her making friends easily. "I try, I mean, I guess I'm pretty decent at making them easily," she said with a giggle before looking around and noticing a publisher that caught her eye. It seemed familiar and she walked over to it, almost as if she was in a trance. She smiled at the pony behind the desk, a dark blue stallion with platinum hair that had a singular crimson streak in it that sat next to her horn. The unicorn looked her up and down before looking back at the book he was reading. Aurora looked at the pamphlet in front of her and bit her lip. Infinity publishing. She had heard of them once or twice while looking for a company that would publish her books. They happened to be the only ones that kept coming up for her, so it had to be fate, right?

The stallion looks at her again and sighs, "You looking to publish or not?" he asks in a snarky tone and Aurora looks up, immediately upset that he would use that tone for someone potentially looking to give time and money to their company. "Oh, no. I think I'm just going to look at this pamphlet some more and hope someone worth my time comes and offers me a place to produce my stories," she said with venom before walking away and looking at another company. They offered sweet smiles to her, making them seem like a more desirable candidate. Aurora walked over and sighed. A dusty rose mare gave her a sad smile.

"I'm sorry, dear. We saw what happened there. We are a somewhat new company called Enchanted Ivy and we'd be more than happy to take a look at what you do," she said, handing Aurora a pamphlet. Aurora and this new mare discussed the books before Aurora handed over the copy of her book that she wrote. It was just a quick meeting between them two and the dusty mare promised her that she would contact Aurora with more information if they wanted to publish and if not, she would send the book back with a little compensation for just looking into them. Aurora smiled and left, heading to the spell books and seeing TigerWolf and Eternity standing at a table as she walked up with a large smile.

[TigerWolf]

TigerWolf had now met Eternity. A gray filly nothing like anypony he's ever met. "Sure alot of ponies call me Tige." he replies as she asks to use one of his nicknames.

Aurora becomes distracted by something and wanders off with TigerWolf m's eyes following. He watches her approach what appears to be a publisher. TigerWolf listens in to hear hr excited reaction when he knew she would get a book published.

After gearing a Aurora be yelled at by a one of te ponies behind the desk. Infinity? 'You're about to feel this infinitely if you don't watch it.' he yinos angrily. TigerWolf stands up ready to go start something with the dark blue stallion behind the desk. He is calmed when another mare comes and sets things straight and hands Aurora a Pamphlet. He smiles as he watches the two mares converse. Eternity speaks up.

TigerWolf slightly blushes at her comments. Before he can respond the gray filly had disappeared into a different section. 'Ship us?' he repeats in his head. He soon refocuses on the very white mare he'd been shipped with.

He smiles watching her give a book to the dusty colored mare. They exchange a few more words before Aurora comes back with a bright smile. "Hey you'll blind ponies with those." he says playfully. "Infinity publishing. One of my friends mentioned them to me. If they publish your book you're definitely going somewhere with the books, Aurora." he says.

Soon Eternity comes back and points out the spell book section. TigerWolf eagerly disappears and reappears in the spell section leaving a trail of Ocean wave patterns behind him.

TigerWolf quickly navigates to a booth set up about elemental magic. "Ah TigerWolf. My magical brother. I have to say I wouldn't expect an Olympic swimmer to show up to a place like this." a middle aged brown stallion with a dark green messy short mane says.

"Hey Forest Canopy. I need to to stock up on elemental spell books to see how I should setup my third spell book." he says. After a few minutes TigerWolf had a bag with a few spell. He waves his old friend good bye as he returns to the table with his nag floating next to him.

"Got what I came for. Lets hope these are good as Forest says they are." he says examining one of his books.
