A Electri-frighting Encounter [En & Stardust] [Dead]

"Yeah I didn't check the time when I left either, though I guess it had been pretty early. It should be late, just compare at the number of ponies from earlier and now." Raijin pointed a hoof down at the slowly decreasing population in Ponyville's Town Square. Most of the young colts and fillies were certainly heading in for the night with their bags to large pillowcases full of sweets. Boy oh boy, won't the dentist be pleased given a month or two. Well, if they remember to brush and floss then a trip to the orthodontist can be evaded. The only ponies who might still be up were most likely those around Raijin and Stardust's age, that and the older equines. Tonight was Nightmare Night so why end the festivities so early? It's not like Nightmare Moon was going to stalk and suck out the souls of those still wandering around this late in the night.

He listened to Stardust talk about treating sick animals and giving them a good home by letting ponies looking for pets adopt them. "Especially these little guys." Curious his eyes follow the mare's hoof to her flank and he saw three bright yellow fireflies. He only look for about a second before he advert his gaze towards somewhere else. Yeah, unlike some ponies near his age, he's not one of "those" kind of ponies. He had the strangest feeling that Stardust was fit to nurture creatures of all shapes and sizes. She seems so, gentle and compassionate. That right there made him slightly miffed, again, towards the unicorns she spoke of earlier. It was one thing to bully somepony, but towards one who doesn't even fight back?! Raijin was honestly going to jot down a note to ask Stardust where those numbskulls live so maybe he could stuff a few storm clouds in their homes, which he has done it before. However what would that make him? Vengeance was not something this pony approves of.

Socially awkward. Those two words were no stranger to this pegasus. Why was it that he could relate to this pony more than the others and what's with this feeling of wanting to protect this pony? Sure she became friends with him, which he still can not believe it happened, but why? Maybe he had a soft spot for equines like her? What ever the reason was, he'll find out eventually, but first he needs to sort out of thoughts and emotions. He does have other friends so it wasn't like he doesn't have friends, but those so-called friends wasn't really his friends, if that made any sense. Since she share something about her social experiences, he thought it would be only fair if he did the same, "Socially awkward huh? I can probably say I was in the same boat as you and hay, I'm probably still in it even now!" His tone was rather proud. Was being socially awkward something to be proud of? Well, sure he was alone majority of the time, but at least he could get more work done without somepony messing it up. He did prefer to work alone anyways. Guess that was a, merit, for being socially awkward??

"I, on the other hoof, actually fought back and traded insults. Sure it got me in trouble, but in the end I did show them I was not a pushover. Though...maybe it wasn't the best decisions I have ever made. I mean, they always came back for more and brought friends with them. Tch, cowards..." Raijin frowned and kicked a small rock over the edge of the hill with a foreleg. "But yeah, don't let them get to you. I haven't seen how you handle with animals, but you're one of the kindest ponies I've seen so far. I mean, it's only been a night, but I already like you more than," He paused once again as he thought about all the ponies he's met, "Umm, ninety-five percent." The other five percent were ponies who actually could handle Raijin's personality in a way, but eventually moved to another location, never to be heard from again. "You know, if anypony tries to doing anything to you, you be sure to let me know and I'll show them what a weather pony like me could do." The pegasus held a smirk and pointed to his cutie mark. A black cloud, a single lightning bolt striking through it, and a pair of orange wings.

Tick-tock. Tick-tock. The hands of father time continue to turn as the two ponies have their conversation. Raijin started thinking if there was anything else they could do at this time. At first he was actually thinking of venturing out to Everfree Forest, but after thinking about it he deemed maybe it wasn't such a good idea. Stardust is with him too and he wouldn't want to cause any trouble for her and besides, who knows what unknown being might come out, not that he was afraid of course. He just didn't want to get the chance to encounter any phantasmal beings, after all, just look at how he reacted at Stardust's costume. Speaking of her costume... Where was her sheet? He remember seeing it on her back earlier. "Say, what ever happened to the sheet you had? You didn't lose it in the..." He stopped himself and eyes wandering over to the blue earth pony knowing she knew what he was about to say. "Actually never mind. I mean, if you value that sheet we," He hesitated, "Could go and look for it." Grrrrrgh. Everything was interrupted by a sudden noise. What in Celestia's name was that?! The pegasus's face became flushed with red, "Um..." He could find words on how to explain that he was hungry. 'Really stomach, really? You couldn't wait for a better time?' Did he eat anything before he left Cloudsdale? He couldn't remember, but he did remember of having a caramel apple. "You wouldn't happen to be hungry would you?" The pegasus asked her, trying to to let her see his flushed face. Even if she was hungry, where would they go to eat? Is any restaurants, food stalls, or confectioneries even still open?? He wasn't even sure if the mare was hungry, so maybe he could manage another hour or two and eat when he gets back home.

[Stardust]

Stardust looked at the dwindling numbers of ponies, leaving just a few couples playing various games that were still open and small groups of friends around their age probably planning to stay up through the whole night. A group of three or four under fillies shouldered bags full of sweet, sugary, tooth rotting candy and she smiled at the looks of absolutely glee on their faces. She imagined the streets full of ponies again, young and old, all laughing and chatting and filling the square with noise. Now, it wasn't nearly as happily going, and the noise level had decreased quite some. The stallion that was still next to her, and actually, his voice made her jump inside because in all honesty, she thought he had left. However, as she thought about it, it was a stupid thought considering the certain protectiveness she felt around him. She heard him say something about being socially awkward, and so, she turned and studied his face and the tone of his voice. He looked happy, and his voice was confident. Normally, that wasn't something to be proud of, but as she searched in the grass for answers, her eyes boring holes into the green leafy stuff, she thought that if you did happen to find someone that was socially awkward with you, and you became friends and improved upon your social skills, you could say quite proudly that you used to be quiet and just look at you now. She smiled at the thought, imagining Raijin boasting about how much he improved.

He went on about how he got himself into trouble with snappy comebacks to insults received, and not to worry about ponies like that. She replayed the fourth or fifth time that a certain white pelted unicorn and his friends had picked her up and spun her around in the air with their magic. Oh, how she had lit into them that time. And they had run, crying out to everyone they knew that Stardust was a freak, and had anger management problems. She smiled sadly at her failed attempts at revenge upon the ponies. One time, she had even forgotten the small detail of not having a horn of which to perform magic, and so she stood in front of them with her head pointed down towards them for longer than she would like to admit before scrambling off quickly with their sniggering to be heard far and wide.

"You're one of the kindest ponies I've seen so far." He said along with other compliments. She felt her cheeks get hot, not used to being praised for anything other than being odd. "You know, if anypony tries to doing anything to you, you be sure to let me know and I'll show them what a weather pony like me could do." She smiled, looking at the Pegasus. She had so many mixed emotions, she felt like she needed a file cabinet to sort them all out. She felt like he was a big brother, but a best friend. And feeling got mashed up together, and split apart, before she finally just sighed and turned to look at the stars. The millions of small, sprinkling dots that so many other nights had been her only friends. Stealing a glance at Raijin's cutie mark, which he had been pointing to hence his mention of being a weather pony. It was intricate, and she liked its uniqueness she decided before turning back to the stars.

"Thank you, Raijin, really. You talk about me being the kind one, but all you've shown me is kindness since we met. Shoot you poured juice on yourself to keep the attention away from me. Juice, for Celestia's sake! That's about the best thing I can think of along the lines of kindness, not to mention standing up for somepony." She stopped, not wanting to overwhelm the pony to much. Goodness, you can't overwhelm a pony with good words! She now felt silly, but of course, all of this happened in her head and she smiled inside, hoping no one invented mind reading any time soon.

She tried to think of last minute things that were still available, thinking she might be boring the stallion just sitting up here. Meanwhile, it got ever later and her brain grew ever fuzzier. She didn't want to go to bed and let the night be over, and she tried to think of ways to help her stay up and atom. She sat up straighter, desperately showing no signs of being sleepy.

"My sheet?" She said, hearing his question. "Ya, I'm pretty sure it fell off during the-" she stooped herself, knowing perfectly well that just this once, her mind could in fact be read by Raijin. "It doesn't really matter, I mean, I had already cut two holes in it. It wouldn't have been my best sheet, that's for sure." A low grumble made her ear slightly twitch. Raijin's face went peachy red. "You wouldn't happen to be hungry, would you?" He asked, being nonchalant as if the noise had not occurred. Stardust jet herself laugh, not at him, but at herself for not letting the poor pony eat something while everything was open. Her mouth, however, watered at the idea of food.

"Food sounds lovely, actually, but I can't think of a place that is still open. Do you want to go walk down there and check?" She asked, pointing to the Town square and the remaining booths. A nice, sweet, crunchy apple sounded perfectly Devine to start off...

Pour juice on himself? What was she talking about-ohhh, the juice. Raijin had a brief flashback of his first encounter with Stardust back in the town square, remembering his successful attempt to redirect every ponies' watching eyes onto himself by pouring a cup of juice onto his mane and majority of this body. It was nothing really and he would much rather have others laugh at him than her. Like seriously, he still doesn't see how tripping over something would be that hilarious and the only place where that could be relatively funny is if you're still in classes for little fillies and colts. Now what is funny is, stuffing a black cloud into somepony's locker and what their reaction when they open it. He's done it before to one of the ponies before, just to get him back for tripping him while he was carrying a plate of food. Ah yes, good times, good times indeed.

The pegasus could feel his face warming up from Stardust's kind words, but he manage to remain calm and collective, shrugging at the end, "Oh it was nothing. Dumping juice on myself doesn't even compare to what I've experience in the past." Other ponies never really told him things like that and it was scarce even from his past friends, so he wasn't use to ponies complimenting him in such a way. He isn't implying he hated the feeling. It felt, nice, and thank Celestia he wasn't a pegasus with a big ego otherwise he just might turn into a pony with a sharp nose.

He felt a big relief in his chest after hearing they wouldn't have to go hunting for Stardust's sheets. It was only a sheet after all, a sheet with two holes cut into them. Yeah maybe it could still be used for something, but he would rather not travel back into that...dark, dim lighted, and full of strange phenomenons. Especially that mare, how the hay did she do all of that?! 'There's got, to be an explanation for that!' Raijin started thinking to himself. 'Pitch black, one candle as the only source of light, size of the tent unknown, and possibility of other ponies besides the mare. She might had been an earth pony, but there must be a unicorn pony doing the special effects. Yes, being a race capable of using magic, casting a shadow spell wouldn't be too hard. It's either all magic or there were complex machinery around the tent... Hmm, this is going to take some time to get everything straight. I'll have to do this later, preferably back in my study room.' Raijin decided to leave his thoughts there. Even though he told himself he wouldn't think of what happened earlier, he couldn't help himself. He dislikes unexplainable situations and things, so he tends to go into deep research. 'Though if there is even the slightest chance of involving them, then...' Yeah, it was obvious what he fears.

With his thoughts staying away from the whole freaky fortuneteller thing, he focused on the current situation. He was hungry and Stardust could also get a little something to eat. They only had an candy apple earlier. "I can't think of a place that's still open. I do know places that stays open late, but unfortunately they're located in Cloudsdale." The pegasus placed a hoof on his chin as he went into thought. Does he know of a place that opens late in Ponyville? He nodded and turn his head to Stardust, "Yeah, want to go look? If you're up for it." He didn't say anything, but he did notice the mare straighten herself. Was she tired? Raijin, for one wasn't tired. He was use to staying up late during the night, head inside his books and even having nightly flights even now and then.

[Stardust]

Raijin handled her praise quite well for someone that seemed inexperienced in the praising ways. After merely shrugging off the juice comment with a mention of what had happened in the past, Stardust pondered this. She didn't know hardly anything about this pegasus's younger years, but she didn't feel like prying at the moment and instead just Stared around the town below, scouting for open places. Her eyes trailed over the blank square again, although now, a lot more of the games around where the fortune teller's tent was. She couldn't wrap her mind around it. It made her droop just a little from her high at attention seat. How she desperately didn't want to come off as tired and have a comment be said, because then what? What if Raijin was tired but she made him stay up because she said she wasn't tired- she was confusing herself and so, stopped her circle of thoughts and instead scoured for a food cart.

Standing, she said, "Ya sure, we had better go before anything else closes." and with that, led the way once more down the steep trail before flattening off onto the cobblestone street again. Walking through more of a housing area before reaching the town square, she stopped and turned to look around inside. From their hill perch, she hadn't seen much of anything but a couple of still open games. And now, from the ground level, she saw nothing more than that.
"I don't think there's anything in there, but I might know of a place that doesn't involve me trying to walk on a cloud." she said, referring to the open late place in Cloudsdale while walking on. A little way away she could see the bright awnings of the Marketplace, although at night, it dimmed their colors greatly. She looked around, slowing at the edge of the eerily emptyish market that was normally swimming with ponies. Now, just a few walked through on their way to the Town Square and eventually, home. Smiling, she found a light pointing at a large wooden sign that read, CAFÉ and on a smaller sign on the ground, OPEN LATE ON WEEKENDS.

"There's that café. I've eaten there before, it's quite suitable if you want to try it." she said, turning to look behind her while gesturing to the semi-lit-up restaurant.

The pegasus only nodded in agreement and got up on his hooves. He follow Stardust back down to the steep trail before they were once again touching the cobblestone street once again. Looking left and right he could see most of the lights turning off one by one. Yep, it was just about time for most ponies to head in and get ready for slumber, especially those who have to wake up in the morning. Well actually, Raijin is one of those ponies who needed to wake up early in the morning. He is a weather pony after all and at time the job calls for earliness. Sometimes his shift changes and sometimes he's off completely. Fortunately the upcoming morning didn't call for him to wake up early, but his shift was still in the morning. He would head back to Cloudsdale, but tonight was Nightmare Night and it wouldn't be right to put his head in the clouds right away. There was nothing wrong in staying up late, is there?

He laughed lightly at Stardust's mention of her trying to walk on a cloud. "Yeah I don't think that would work out at all. I mean, it could work, but I might have to carry you to Cloudsdale, get something to eat, and then fly you back here." It was a thought and it wasn't such a bad idea to be truthful. The pegasus could probably carry the blue earth pony and that was the main worry. He's also pretty confident in his stamina and his strength, so carrying a pony on his back for a hour or two wouldn't be a big burden for this pony. Of course, this was all just an idea and maybe they can do this some other time.

Raijin continued following the blue mare until she stopped and pointed her hoof at a large wooden sign that read CAFÉ. There was also a smaller sign on the ground that said they open late on the weekends. 'Thank heavens this Nightmare Night was on a weekend!' A faint smile appeared on the pegasus's face. He was glad he'll be able to get something to eat rather than wait until he got back to his little home. He was actually even more joyous he gets to spend a little bit more time with Stardust, his first friend, well maybe his first true friend. After hearing that she's eaten here before, Raijin smiled once again and nodded in approval, "Sure, anything is fine with me. If you say it's good, then it probably is." He wasn't a picky eater and most of anything tasted good to this pony. It was either that or he has weird tastebuds...nah that couldn't be it.

Making his way over to the entrance of the café, he gently open the door and gesture Stardust to head in first before he went in himself. The place was nice and felt comfortable. It had just the right amount of lighting and combined with the soothing music, it created a calm relaxing atmosphere. Inside sat about three other ponies. One was sitting alone drinking who knows what while reading a newspaper. The other two sat a bit deeper into the cafe, chatting and laughing softly. It didn't take long before a waitress in black and white took them to a seat, handling them a small menu. Raijin's yellow orbs glance over to the menu wondering what to order. "Hmm, nothing too heavy and any coffee related in out of the question. What are you thinking of having?" He asked Stardust as he continued to ponder on what to order. He didn't want eat anything to heavy since it was already late and drinking any coffee related substance would definitely gain the opposite effect of wanting to sleep. "I think I might just have a daisy salad and a cup of tea."

[Stardust]

Stardust imagined Raijin carrying her to Cloudsdale, smiling at the thought of other ponies oddly looking their way. It would be quite the voyage for Raijin however, and so thought if it ever were to happen, it would be during the day after a good nights rest. She nodded to his statement of Nightmare Night being on a weekend when they stood outside the small cafe. She heard her stomach grumble at the thought of food, and was grateful that she didn't have to wait to walk all the way back to her home to eat something. Besides, she didn't have a fully stocked fridge either and would have only eaten enough to hold her until a larger breakfast in the morning. Letting Raijin gesture her inside first, She took in the comforting cafe that had welcomed her during the summer when she had had a not so good day. A bubbly, young waitress in black and white seated them at a table off sort of too the right. She looked at the other three ponies in the restaurant, glad that they weren't awkwardly the only ponies in there.

Picking up her menu, she heard Raijin's question and made a hmmmm sound, looking over the categories. She considered Raijin's choice, and said, "A cup of tea sounds marvelous, although I'm on the fence about food options..." she faded out, scanning the page's options. Her eyes rested on an apple crisp salad with leafy greens and just a pinch of hay. It wasn't her favorite add on, but the rest of the salad sounded good and so when the waitress reappeared, she said, "I'll take an apple crisp salad with a cup of tea please." she let Raijin order and let the unicorn lift away their menus before situating herself better and looked at the yellow pegasus. She was definitely glad that she had still a little more time in the night with her new found friend.

"What do you like to do in your free time? I mean, obviously busy with the weather and all, but any other things? When I'm not busy with my animals, I enjoy-" she let herself continue, ready to open up a bit more. "Well, I do like to sing. Of course I'm horrid and am surprised that the few windows I have aren't broken..." she gave a small giggle, but their drinks arrived. She stirred hers, adding just enough sugar and milk of which was brought with it, before sipping it slowly. She wasn't nearly tired at all now, and savored the hot drink. She was so glad that she had met Raijin in the first place tonight. Hopefully, this wasn't a one time deal, and events like these would happen more often. Events like making friends, and enjoying herself. She liked the feeling, and so continued to drink her tea in a small state of bliss.

"I'll take an apple crisp salad with a cup of tea please." The pegasus heard Stardust said as the waitress stood there, waiting for their orders. Normally he would start off with a drink and a little appetizer, but considering the time he would not care for a upset stomach later on. It would also mean getting some hay fries would be out of the question. He does have a job involving the weather tomorrow. "I'll have the Daisy Salad and a cup of camellia tea." Ah yes, tea. Raijin was a pony who enjoys drinking tea very much. Green tea, black tea, jasmine tea, darjeeling, oolong tea, and even sweet tea; this pegasus's favorite thing to drink was tea. Those were just some of the tea listed, but don't get him wrong, he enjoys other drinks as well. However, nothing seems to beat a refreshing cup of warm tea during the night. Okay, besides warm milk.

As their beverages arrive and are set on the table before them, Raijin took a little spoon and gently stir the contents of the ceramic cup. His surroundings were so peaceful and the faint aroma of his camellia tea settled the depths of this pony's soul. This was a reason why he enjoys going to cafes. His ears perked up when the blue mare spoke again, asking him what does he do on his free time and mentioning that she like to sing. The part about breaking her windows with her voice made him chuckle. At first he was a little nervous to tell her, but that nervousness went away after taking a sip of his drink, letting the tea flow smoothly down his esophagus as it simultaneously warm his body. "Well, outside of the weather pony business, I'm usually reading books either in my room or somewhere that's relaxing. It's either that or planning, and practicing, aerial acrobatics. You know, doing corkscrews, spins, and all that." He spoke with a wide grin on his face. He always enjoys talking about aerial related stuff, especially if the conversation ends up leading to the Wonderbolts.

Finally the salad that the two ponies asked for came out. Even though only a few minutes had pass, it felt like an hour to him. It was probably because of him enjoying what ever time he has left with Stardust, before they part ways. "So singing huh?" He found himself laughing once again as his hoof reached for a fork. The plastic fork pierced through a few leafy greens and a daisy before they were lifted out of the plate and into the pegasus's mouth. Not wanting to speak with food in his mouth, he chewed and swallowed before his mouth opened, "Singing... Don't think I've ever sing before. Perhaps in my colthood years, but i'm pretty sure that's only me mumbling." He was bad at singing. Wait, is he?? Sure he isn't just saying that because he communicating skills are lacking for him to even think about bursting into a song? Yeah that was most likely the reason. "Closest singing I've ever done would be humming." He laughed and took another sip of his camellia tea. He did leave out one little detail and it was the fact he only hums a tune during showers. Yeah there was no way he was going to let her know this, least not at this time or probably any time.

[Stardust]

Stardust sipped her tea after stirring it gently, savoring the warm feeling it created. She was surprised to find that Raijin liked to read, although she didn't think anything of it. She enjoyed to read as well, and she imagined her little hammock outside of her house under the shade of a large tree on the edge of the forest. Snapping back to attention, making her ears pop up a bit. Aerial acrobatics sounded more like the pegasus sitting before her.

"Aerial acrobatics... like those- oh what are they called..." she could picture them perfectly in her mind. Their sleek blue suits... "Like the Wonderbolts?" She could picture the pony in one of the same uniforms, zipping around in the sky. Her plate was set before her, the shimmer of magic fading as the waitress walked away. She Picked up the fork and stabbed at a dried apple slice, placing it in her mouth and chewed it thoughtfully. She placed the fork on the edge of the plate and took a short drink of tea before focusing back on Raijin. She now had no trace of sleepiness, and so was glad that she got to spend more time with the pegasus.

The topic of singing resurfaced, and Stardust pictured herself back in her hammock singing tunes of no really meaning to no one in particular. Raijin went on about how he didn't sing, or didn't sing well at least. She smiled; singing was another thing she couldn't picture him doing although he had surprised her before.

"I never thought i would enjoy singing, but hey, When you're alone all the time at home with no one but animals to keep you compony, you discover unlikely hobbies." she laughed a little to herself before munching on her salad once more. The leafy greens were crunchy and bitter compared to the sweet apples, and she smiled in her food enjoyment. Taking a sip of tea, she remembered the stallion's mentioning of aerial acrobatics.

"So aerial stuff, huh? Do the Wonderbolts influence you or, have you ever met them or anything?" she said, finding a new topic wanting to stray from the singing, which she didn't exactly want to go deep into.

"The Wonderbolts? Yes the Wonderbolts! They're absolutely amazing! Have you been to one of their shows?!" At this point the pegasus stopped eating and unknowingly had half of his body across the table. He was standing on his chair while supporting his upper body with his forehooves, his eyes seems to be beaming with excitement. Raijin, after feeling some stares going to him from his sudden outburst he laughed nervously and cowered back into his seat from embarrassment. He tried to hide his face with a hoof, but failed miserably. "Oh I'm sorry... I got a little carried away there." He hope he didn't scare earth pony. It seems like every time at the mention of his favorite team in all of Equestria, he always gets excited. He just couldn't help it since it is his dream to one day get accepted into the Wonderbolts Academy and maybe even get the chance to meet the famous elite team up front and personal. Also surprisingly enough, he could have a decent conversation with just about most ponies without having the fear of him saying something wrong. Unfortunately, this pegasus still haven't caught on to that.

Raijin decided to remain quiet and kept his mouth busy by stuffing more of his salad into his mouth, least he did until he couldn't bear the silence anymore, "Sorry if I did scare you. I tend to get a little excited about the Wonderbolts." The pegasus laughed nervously as he took a sip of his tea. "I guess they do influence me to push myself and go beyond the limits, they're like ponies I look up to ever since I was a little colt." Settling the ceramic cup down on the table he showed a faint smile, remembering all the games he was taken to in the past. He always look up to them, especially he was last of his class to learn how to fly properly. While the other colts were out having fun and doing loops in the air, Raijin was stuck on the ground trying to figure out what was he doing wrong. He isn't a dumb pony. He's actually quite smart, but it was just the fact he was too engrossed in books that he didn't even bother to try anything until he knew he could pull it off. He always plans everything so perfectly in his head that he forgets he needed to actually attempt first. The whole "practice makes perfect" never sunk into that little skull of his until late.

"I have met them. Well, not up close and personal, but I've seen them in my seat when I happen to get my hooves on a ticket. They're really something to behold and all the stunts they pull always seems to leave me breathless in the end. Oh sorry, I didn't mean to keep rambling on." The pony let off a small laugh and took another bite of his daisy salad. It would still be a daisy salad if he didn't ate all of the daisies already. What did he learn tonight? Stardust loves animals and she sometimes sing. It seems like a good combination for the blue mare. "So what's it like taking care of animals? You know, being surrounded by them majority of the time?" Raijin's never taken care of an animal before, not even a little goldfish. It made him wonder if it was hard taking care of critters of all shapes and sizes.

[Stardust]

Stardust leaned back in her chair. The Pegasus's face was less than a foot from her own, his orangy, yellow gold eyes sparkling like the sun. He looked like a colt on Christmas morning. How he had managed to get his hind legs on the seat of his chair with such grace, Stardust didn't know. Raijin's outburst had taken her by surprise, and she had almost fallen over in the process. Her chair tipped back on two legs, and she freaked out, grabbing the table and shaking it in the process. A puddle of tea formed next to her cup. She was probably blushing just as rosy as she suspected Raijin to be. Righting herself as Raijin lowered back into his chair and apologized, Stardust mopped up the tiny puddle with her napkin before folding it once more. She made sure she had fully regained her composure, sipping her drink before speaking again.

"You didn't scare me, just-" she was thoughtful for a moment. "Just surprised me is all. Not everyday you expect a pony to suddenly be this close to your own face." She held her hooves about eight inches apart for a visual. She felt a little bad though, and so said, "Don't worry about it. I probably would've reacted the same if someone like, say, Daring Do were to come up in conversation." She smiled a wide smile at the thought of the adventurer pony. She had grown up reading the books, waiting patiently even in a three hour line to get the third book signed by the pony herself. As to not get riled if Raijin didn't know who Daring Do was, she moved on from the topic.

"I've never personally been to a show, but I would love to sometime." She said. She took another bite of salad, the number of items on the plate dwindling. She chewed while contemplating the question that had been asked. What was it like taking care of animals? She was so used to it that when the question came along, she never knew how to answer it.
"It's funny, really. I never do know how to out it in words. I mean, you definitely don't have the social abilities that someone would who works in some pony-filled place, but it's definitely worth it. They are just so cute to take care of..." She stopped herself, not letting herself ramble. But she couldn't help it. "It's fun to see them react to different things and watch them grow. Do you have a pet?" She asked, resting her hooves in the table.

His sudden outburst and action cause what little conversation to stop within the cafe, leaving only the music from turning the entire place into dead silence. His excitement also caused quite a stir from Stardust seeing how she almost fell and made her tea spill. 'Smooth... I just had to go and do that.' Raijin glance around his surrounding and smiled nervously as he saw the cafe owner lift an eyebrow. At this moment he felt like just standing up and make his way out of the cafe, but unfortunately his body told him to stay. Instead of following his want, he just lower his head and took slow sips of his drink. "Yeah sorry about that.. Need a napkin?" The pegasus gave her a weak smile and offered her some napkins for the spill, his eyes staring into the contents of his tea. If his tea cup was any bigger, he would be trying to hide the lower part of his face behind it.

Raijin was glad things didn't go silent when the waitress came over to clean up the litt and his ears perked up when Stardust started speaking about a very familiar pony by the name of Daring Do. 'Daring do. Where have I heard that name before...?' A sudden image of a book on one of his bookshelves popped into his mind. "Daring Do? You mean that adventurous and brave explorer?" He did have a book about the adventures of Daring Do. Which one was it again? Ah yes, it was book one of her adventures. After hearing about the book being a good read, Raijin went and got himself a book, but he never did get started on reading it. He wasn't going to lie, but it did surprise him a little that Stardust reads a pony going through long journeys filled with danger and excitement. "So I take it you like Daring Do? I don't know much about her, only that she travels around in dangerous locations, least in the books anyways. I have book one, but I never got to read it." Is Daring Do actually real or was she just a fictional character made by A.K. Yearling? Regardless if she's real or not, she would be a cool pony to meet...but maybe not as cool as the Wonderbolts of course.

His daisy salad soon disappeared into the depths of his stomach and as Stardust started speaking about animals, he just listened and occasionally sip his tea. Before she even started talking about animal there were one thing she said, "I've never personally been to a show, but I would love to sometime." She's never been to a show featuring the Wonderbolts? Raijin had to remind himself not to get excited otherwise he might end up scaring her again. Maybe I can take you to one, is what he wanted to say, but he hesitated. 'Great why to lose a chance to get to know a pony better.' He facehoof himself in his mind. "Do you have a pet?" Did he have a pet? Maybe he had a pet from his colthood days? "Nope, don't think I ever had a pet. How about you?" Wow, did he really just ask her that? That was a dumb question... 'Sheesh what is wrong with me tonight?' Raijin decided to drop the subject and made himself get back on topic. He's never had thoughts of having a pet before. Would it be nice to have a pet around? He does live alone...so many some company would be nice. Someone who won't judge him would also be a plus. This is something he'll have to think on.
