The Ponyville station was a rush of relaxed activity, ponies booking trips to places unknown, waiting for friends and relatives to return, bidding tearful farewells to loved ones while the loved ones responded with some annoyance that they were just going to Canterlot to pick up something and would be back that evening and please stop pulling my mane like that.
Amidst all of this hubbub, a small, slightly plump, shadow of a pony sat awaiting the incoming train from Manehattan. It had been several months since his friend Rusty had gone to Manehattan with his big sister, and now he was finally returning to Ponyville, so naturally Cobblestone had made his way to the train to wait for him. Cobblestone's big sister had insisted on bringing Rusty by later for a proper welcome back party, and Cobblestone had urged her to save the party for the following day as his friend would likely like to get reestablished first.
The little black colt leaned out to look and see if the train was coming yet, and leaning your head out in front of a possibly oncoming train is generally a bad idea. This was remarked on by another colt that was sitting alongside Cobblestone, who had himself thought about leaning out a moment ago but through better of it.
The second small pony sitting on the platform was a small, slightly plump, shadow of a pony, and it was awaiting the incoming train from Manehattan. It was had been several months since his friend Rusty had gone to Manehattan with his big sister, and now he was finally returning to Ponyville, so Cobblestone had made his way to the train to wait for him.
As the train finally came around a bend down the track, Cobblestone and Cobblestone sat eagerly awaiting the arrival of their friend.
