What Ponyville lacked in wild and unruly nature, the neighbouring Everfree forest made up for in plenty. With the uncontrollable weather of the dark magical forest, it would be common for storms to drift over towards the sleepy town and disrupt the scheduled weather. That's why weather ponies like Misty Fly were on the job.
The faded pink pegasus flew casually towards the woods as she surveyed the approaching storm. The mare couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the mass of clouds drifting towards her. It was certainly a larger amount than was usual but certainly nothing she couldn't handle. She drew up close to the collection of clouds, hovering in front of them as she gave them a mean glare.
"Right, listen here clouds," Misty rallied to herself, giving the clouds an outright incredulous look. Her feigned fury at the unruly weather was clearly betrayed by the mischievous grin she wore on her face. "You are waaay out of line here, floating so close to Ponyville. So get your fluffy backsides back to the Everfree!"
With her battle speech given, Misty Fly reared backwards as she spun to give the nearest storm cloud a buck. This was just one part of her job that always seemed so deceptively easy, to pegasi and non-pegasi alike. Too hard would set off the storm, too lightly would do nothing, and poor aim and placement could set the cloud in the wrong direction or shape it accidentally to cause a new problem.
Of course, the risk was also heightened by the fact that these were Everfree clouds. Any number of magical properties could be effecting them. Thankfully, her hit was perfect. With practiced ease she kicked the swirling mass and sent it steadily back towards the woodland it had come from. The pegasus moved onto the next closest cloud, gently laying her front hooves on it and began to move it backwards. Although only minority noticeable, it was easy to see that it took her a short moment to get up to a good speed while pushing the cloud. After a short stint, Misty let go and watched to ensure the cloud would remain on course.
Paying little attention to anything else, she started to sing a little song to herself with a smile on her muzzle as she worked on clearing the sky.
"Don't know why,
There's no sun up in the sky,
Stormy weather,
Since my mare and I ain't together,
Keeps raining all the time."
