When you're younger, you tend to have strange dreams about what you want to be when you're older. Shawnie Spence is young, and undoubtably has strange dreams, which is quite fitting with her equally strange personality. For example, when she was younger, she'd very much wanted to be a ninja! I know, it's a little peculiar - especially for a filly - but it's something she dreamt of nonetheless. Just the feeling of being armed with some sort of mythical weapon or being totally invincible sounded like a good alternative to working in an office, something that she'd still agree with now. But your dreams have to be possible, and when Shawnie turned eight, she'd already realised that such a dream was merely a dream, and it probably wasn't all that well paid, either.
That's when art sparked her interest. Street art, for reference. You wanna know what's so appealing about street art? You're armed with a weapon! Not a mythical weapon, admittedly, but still an awesome one! What was her weapon? Spray paints. Spray paints that she'd been meaning to use for a while, but she'd always been wary of getting caught! But this morning she'd woken up with an even cooler idea, and an excuse to use her secret weapons! She could be a ninja! I mean, they have to be pretty skilled at not getting caught and stuff, right? Shawnie was determined not to get caught using her spray cans, so this was the perfect way of incorporating her childhood dream into her future career!
Mission set, she snuck quietly out of her front door, shutting it quietly and glancing around, raising a brow and bobbing her head upon seeing no pony around. This was good. The filly was dressed rather normally - you don't want to appear suspicious - with her usual leg warmer adorning her leg. Something out of the ordinary would be the huge sack on the filly's back with splodges of paint all over it. The filly probably didn't realise how totally obvious this looked. Ah well.
After wandering down the street, looking about for ponies and places to test out her trusty cans, she came across the most beautiful thing in the entire world. The wall. And it was only a few mere blocks down her street, too! How convenient. Observing the area more closely, it became obvious that it must be her next door neighbours but one's wall. But boy, was it asking for some attention. Some artistic flare would definitely brighten this dull grey wall up, huh?
"It's a wonder I'm not getting paid for this." The filly mumbled under her breath, tipping the sack over onto the ground, some of its contents spilling out on the floor. Gasping, she looked about. Still no sign of any pony. It was a good move getting up half an hour earlier, huh? Picking up a spray can with the word 'cyan' on it, she eagerly faced the wall, wondering where to start. At this very moment, somepony in the house opposite begun wandering out of their front door into their garden. Just when Shawnie had her guard down...
